We recently presented at the @SmrForum in New Brunswick.
Sarah Eaton, Director General of Advanced Reactor Technologies, spoke about regulatory efficiency during a presentation about new nuclear projects.
We were pleased to attend the @SmrForum Pioneering New Nuclear in Atlantic Canada conference. Our intermediate- and high-level waste team was pleased to participate in a panel and host a workshop seeking input on the proposed second repository project.
⚡ Ontario is showing what long-term nuclear energy can look like in Canada.
With a portfolio spanning products, services and technologies — from long-term operation solutions to advanced reactors — Westinghouse is ready to support reliable energy and regional partnerships across Ontario, New Brunswick and Atlantic provinces.
At @SmrForum's Pioneering New Nuclear in Atlantic Canada event, John Gorman, President of Westinghouse Canada, discussed nuclear as a long-term strategic asset, Ontario’s leadership and how collaboration can turn opportunity into action.
Proud to sponsor @SmrForum's Pioneering New Nuclear in Atlantic Canada, this week in New Brunswick.
ARC President & COO Bob Braun and members of our leadership team will be joining industry leaders to discuss the practical pathways to bringing advanced reactors online.
A strong start to Pioneering New Nuclear in Atlantic Canada with today’s Strategic Roundtable on Atlantic Energy Security and New Nuclear Deployment.
The roundtable brought together a highly senior group of leaders from across government, utilities, Indigenous organizations, industry, finance, academia, and the broader energy ecosystem for a candid, substantive discussion on the future of energy security and new nuclear deployment in Atlantic Canada.
The conversation focused on key issues shaping the region’s energy future, including grid reliability, affordability, regional cooperation, investment readiness, workforce and supply chain capacity, Indigenous partnership, and opportunities for Canada–U.S. collaboration.
On behalf @CanadianSMRs and @SmrForum, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the Honourable @neudorf_ab for his leadership and support in advancing Alberta’s nuclear energy conversation.
His work helped bring important momentum to this file, including through the Nuclear Energy Engagement Panel and the release of its report, which marked an important step in exploring how nuclear energy can support Alberta’s long-term energy future.
I also wish him continued success in his new responsibilities and thank him for his continued service to Alberta and Albertans.
We wish Minister @RjSigurdson every success in this new role and we stand ready to support constructive, informed, and practical dialogue as Alberta continues this important work, including through our upcoming convening in Edmonton this September.

On behalf of @CanadianSMRs and @SmrForum, I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to the Honourable @RjSigurdson on taking on this important responsibility as Minister of Affordability and Utilities.
Alberta has long been a global energy leader, and the nuclear file represents a significant opportunity to strengthen energy security, support economic growth, enable industrial competitiveness, and position the province for the next generation of clean, reliable power.

Have you had a chance to look at the Nuclear Energy Engagement and Advisory Panel's Report from the recent public engagement?
As part of the final report submitted to government for consideration, the panel made a number of recommendations for government’s consideration as we develop a nuclear energy roadmap, including:
⚡Enhancing the public’s understanding of nuclear energy through early, accessible, fact-based information.
⚡Determining and communicating Alberta’s role in decision-making.
⚡Strengthening coordination with federal assessment, licensing and regulatory processes.
⚡Continuing long-term relationship-building and policy dialogue with Indigenous communities.
⚡Supporting meaningful participation by municipalities, First Nations and Métis Settlements in future proposed project review processes.
⚡Strengthening Alberta’s readiness through emergency planning and further analysis of economic, workforce and market implications.

Darlington SMR renews Canada’s nuclear maturity
Ontario has started construction on the first small modular reactor in the G7, as rising power demand and tightening fuel markets test whether new nuclear projects can be delivered at scale.

Take a look at the Nuclear Energy Engagement and Advisory Panel Report, which will guide Alberta's next steps in enabling a nuclear energy industry in Alberta:

“The Alberta Nuclear Energy Engagement Panel Report is an important step toward enabling nuclear energy development in Alberta. Alberta has long been a global energy leader, and this report helps define the conditions needed for its next chapter: public confidence, regulatory clarity, Indigenous partnership, workforce readiness, and long-term policy coordination.” - @erveinagosalci , Founder and CEO of @CanadianSMRs & @SmrForum
We are especially grateful to the @AtlanticCouncil for its partnership and for hosting such an important and timely discussion in Washington.
@ACGlobalEnergy@SmrForum
We were honoured to collaborate with the @AtlanticCouncil's @ACGlobalEnergy on an exclusive roundtable in Washington, D.C. on “Fueling the Energy Future: Strengthening U.S.-Canada Cooperation on the Nuclear and Critical Minerals Nexus.”
As geopolitical developments continue to reshape global supply chains, the conversation focused on opportunities for Canada and the United States to strengthen cooperation across the nuclear value chain, including uranium, fuel-cycle services, advanced nuclear deployment, and broader critical mineral supply chains.

I'm so pleased to see $5 million being invested through our government and @ERAlberta_ to @csmc_scms & the @UAlberta to build a new prototype research reactor which could help advance small-scale nuclear technologies.
Alberta has long been a global leader in responsible energy development, and projects like this could position us to become a leader in advanced nuclear innovation, too.
We are building a strong foundation for the future of energy in our province, and across the country.

A new white paper from the Canadian Association of Small Modular Reactors highlights Canada’s leadership in advanced nuclear.
Our Morpheus reactor is built for Arctic and defense deployment to help drive the next phase of nuclear development.

This is a clear signal on microreactors. They can play a critical role in powering remote operations, reducing reliance on diesel, and strengthening Arctic energy security. This was a central recommendation in our recent white paper, and it is encouraging to see it begin to take shape in federal policy.

We are particularly encouraged by the Government of Canada’s initial $40-million investment through the Department of @NationalDefence to assess the potential of a Canadian-controlled microreactor to provide heat and electricity to remote and northern DND and Canadian Armed Forces facilities and operations.
This direction closely aligns with our recent white paper, Powering the Future: Positioning Canada as a Global Leader in New Nuclear, which called for a national nuclear strategy that connects deployment, energy security, fuel cycle readiness, innovation, and Canada’s role as a global nuclear leader.
Canada has the technology, resources, workforce, and strategic imperative to lead. The focus now must be on building the conditions to move projects forward.

Following the nation-building agreement we signed in March with provinces and territories to build a more connected electricity grid, it was a pleasure to sit down with Alberta’s Minister of Affordability and Utilities, @neudorf_ab alongside @RudyCuzzetto at #CNA2026.
Ontario signed a partnership with Alberta to support their buildout of large-scale nuclear and Small Modular Reactors — delivering generational investments in jobs, energy sovereignty, and reliable power.
