How do you show up for people when life gets stormy?

After a recent tornado damaged our home, I was reminded that everyone is navigating a battle. Adversity isn't a competition, and empathy is the best thing we can give.

Although World Alzheimer’s Day has passed, September is World Alzheimer’s Month. 💜

Alzheimer’s affects millions, but caregiving can feel so isolating. Check in on a colleague balancing work or learn the early signs. Early awareness changes outcomes: https://t.co/EHMZA1B8qr

The @guardian reported that neurosurgeons performed the world’s first AI-assisted brain surgery.

This is where AI belongs in healthcare: Supporting the skilled minds behind patient care, not replacing them. 💡

[CancerGeek @CancerGeek]

Most people default to being patients: reacting when symptoms appear.

But what if healthcare providers could help patients become "informed participant" people who proactively choose wellness that suits them before a crisis hits?

Can our systems encourage this shift? 🤔

[CancerGeek @CancerGeek]

UpDoc getting FDA clearance for pilot testing its AI 'concierge doctor' is a milestone.

Are we using this to strengthen trust, or just offload care? 🤝

The rule is simple, but hard to practice: Listen to understand, don't just listen to respond. Stop treating conversations as transactions to be closed. Next time a colleague pauses, let the silence stand a few seconds longer than feels comfortable, and see what they say next.

[CancerGeek @CancerGeek]

As professionals, we're trained to solve problems. The moment someone starts talking, our brains immediately pivot toward a solution. We find ourselves formulating answers mid-sentence, looking for the right moment to step in and fill the silence just to prove we're on top of it.

[CancerGeek @CancerGeek]

But when we rush to deliver an immediate fix, we end up cutting off the exact moment of vulnerability when the real truth of an issue comes out. If we actually allow a moment of silence to exist, we give the speaker the breathing room to go deeper.

Regardless of your faith background, the Pope’s new encyclical asks an important question:

What happens to the individual when they are forced to adapt to the speed of the machine?

Quick question: Do you use wearable tech to track your health? 🤔

Many people use health trackers as a strict rule for how they should feel, but I think it should be a helpful data point and companion to the story your body tells.

What are your thoughts on this? Let me know! 👇

Healthcare needs real-world evidence over hype.

A new study analyzed 258k X-rays across 26 countries with no quality exclusions. The AI held its accuracy, making a great case for honest system design.

Celebrating 250 years of freedom! 🇺🇸

Generations have fought, sacrificed and pushed our country closer to the promises of the Declaration of Independence.

However you’re spending the holiday, I hope you take a moment to reflect on what that vision means to you today. ♥️

I always say: “What the government gives, they take away.” The same goes for tech giants.

@elonmusk What’s really interesting is how you play this system out, let’s take my domain, #medicine Some hospitals are creating “frontier” models. They want to distribute their medical practice to other hospitals…is it scaled expertise or mediocrity? #Nof1

[CancerGeek @CancerGeek]

The MEDVi fallout is a wake-up call for telehealth. AI-generated "doctors" and $401M in hype can’t replace real human trust.

AI should be a support system, not a replacement. We need honest design over deepfakes.
