This grant is intended to solve a catch-22 facing many young scientists: not having enough data to solicit funding for large-scale studies, and yet not having enough funding to collect further data.

2022 chemistry laureate Carolyn Bertozzi took click chemistry to a new level by utilising it in living organisms. Using her bioorthogonal reactions, researchers have improved the targeting of cancer pharmaceuticals, which are now being tested in clinical trials.
