To the @IrishEmbFinland and the Irish community in Finland—thank you for fostering such an inclusive and engaging network. You remind us how vital it is to embrace diverse traditions and help each other thrive.
Happy holidays 🍀 🎅
At the event, I saw familiar faces and met new ones, reflecting on how connections like these—built across cultures—make Finland feel like home. Healthy, welcoming communities don’t just bring people together; they inspire action and create ripples of positive change.
Some of my husband’s Irish friends, whom he met through sports, turned out to be the same people I’ve encountered who brought their expertise to advance science communication and improving education for children from immigrant backgrounds here in Finland.
This past Sunday, I had the privilege of joining the Embassy of Ireland, Finland's holiday party. It was a warm and festive gathering, and an honor to meet the new ambassador after many years of knowing their predecessor.

Thank you @jitcancer for the highlight. A graduate student this week, and hopefully a fresh doctor next Friday. :) Looking forward to discussing this work with my opponent.
Meet the Author: Rita Turpin (@CancerRiSearch), a graduate student from @helsinkiuni, is 1st author of “Respiratory Complex I Regulates Dendritic Cell Maturation in Explant Model of Human Tumor Immune Microenvironment,” now available in #JITC! 1/5

Our latest publication highlights potential synergistic effects between metformin and treatments that induce the release of antigens from cancer cells. This indicates a promising avenue for further exploration in cancer treatment strategies

I'm having a blast at #AACR23. I've befriended quite a few participants already, but if I haven't met you then come see me tomorrow at 9am at poster section 24, board 11 (abstract 4122).

It was an honor to represent the academic collaboration within the @Cancer_IO_ project. Working so closely with top-notch professionals in the cancer immunology field has had a huge impact on my development as a researcher. @helsinkiuni@maijahollmen@KlefstromLab#mustjokilab
"Mikä voisi mallintaa kasvainta paremmin kuin itse kasvain". Rita Turpin @CancerRiSearch jakoi ajatuksia tuoreiden kudosnäytteiden käytöstä tutkimuksessa ja lääketestauksessa. #tutkimus
Klefström laboratory was honored by a visit from the U.S. Ambassador in Finland, Mr. Douglas Hickey.
He witnessed cutting-edge technology used in the MYCimmune project after discussing with our Helsinki-based scientists

Thank you, @usembfinland, for the invitation to the U.S. Independence Day celebration. The event was wonderful, the weather was gorgeous, and we hope to attend again next year.

Great research is half the job, the other half is talking about it.
Congratulations to our PhD researcher, Rita Turpin. She is a big advocate of effective science communication, and it paid off at the medical faculty's RPU science day

Today we highlight our research team of varying skillsets and expertise. Our MYC-dependent cancer vulnerability pathways and drugs will pass through these hands before translational consideration.

Sharing this just because I enjoyed the seminar SO much. The recording will be available on YouTube in a few weeks but OH MY how interesting science is when it is explained clearly and in simple terms. Excellent job, @HGeorgeSpace Also, thanks for entertaining all my questions :)
