The fastest way to deal with weaponized incompetence in a relationship is to stop rescuing someone from the consequences of their own laziness.
My friend’s boyfriend had a habit of “washing” dishes but somehow leaving them covered in grease and food residue.
Whenever she called him out, he’d say, “I’m just not good at this. You do it so much better, so why don’t you just handle it?”
Convenient, right? Pretend you’re incapable of doing a basic household chore, and suddenly your partner is expected to do it for you forever.
Most women would get frustrated, wash the plate again, and move on just to avoid another argument.
But my friend decided to handle things differently.
She didn’t argue. She didn’t lecture him. She simply put the greasy plate aside.
The following evening, she cooked dinner as usual. Her plate was sparkling clean. His? The exact same greasy, crusty plate he had supposedly washed the night before.
He looked at it in disgust and demanded, “What the hell is this?”
She smiled and replied, “That’s the result of your hard work.”
He got up, walked to the sink, and finally scrubbed the plate properly.
Funny how someone who claims they’re incapable of doing a chore suddenly figures it out when they’re the one who has to live with the consequences.
Weaponized incompetence only works when someone else keeps picking up the slack.
A relationship is a partnership, not a parent-child arrangement. Nobody should have to beg an adult to contribute to the home they live in.
So, what do you think? Was she a genius for refusing to enable him, or was serving him that dirty plate petty and passive-aggressive?
You can raw dog undiagnosed ADHD for four decades.
Until perimenopause removes the estrogen that was doing half your ADHD management.
And suddenly you're not just struggling. You're unrecognisable to yourself.
This is the most underdiagnosed crisis in women's healthcare right now.
I don't believe in an afterlife, atleast the christian one, and that's precisely why I cherish this one. If anything, I'd imagine the afterlife is a lot like before you were born, remember that?
The idea of "nothingness" isn't some demonic lie. it's a profound wake up call. If we only get one shot at this human experience, it demands that we stop looking up at the sky for salvation and start looking at the person next to us.
It means trading spiritual escapism for radical empathy. It means choosing deeds over prayers, hospitals over churches, and education over indoctrination. It means facing the harsh realities of the world with open eyes, rather than retreating into comforting myths.
A finite life is not a meaningless life. It is a canvas that we are forced to paint beautifully because we know it will eventually be taken away. To me, that reality is far more sacred than an endless cycle of existing.
Men like this don't try to bring you closer to the "divine" to prepare you for an afterlife. They work to separate you from your wallet while you're still alive.
@X_sun_ny I was diagnosed at 5, but didn't start meds until I was in my 40's. It was like someone turned off a switch in my head. I was relieved at 1st, then angry because my life didn't have to be as hard as it was.
BREAKING: The execution of Fort Hood mass shooter Nidal Hasan by firing squad will be "made public so people can watch it," per Pete Hegseth.
It will happen on December 3, at the same base where he carried out the massacre.
@drseanmullen During a zoom meeting this week, one of my coworkers shared that his wife had COVID. He was shocked because he had no idea COVID was, "still a thing." I work remotely because this is what people are like now.
The Department of Homeland Security has tapped $20 million to pay for the campaign-style ads glorifying President Donald Trump that have drawn widespread criticism from Republicans and Democrats as a misuse of taxpayer dollars that likely runs afoul of anti-propaganda law. https://t.co/JxniwBJieh
The man who sent “free p*ssy” to the group chat was on a pre-med track. He was going to be a doctor when he sees half the human race as glorified fleshlights.
And if that single fact doesn’t highlight for you how violence against women becomes a systemic societal issue, I don’t know what to tell you.
President Donald Trump is canceling nearly $1 billion in spending approved by Congress, the White House announced on Friday, using a rare and contested power to axe funding for immigrant services and diversity-focused initiatives. https://t.co/IeV9nB1Lec
JUST IN: Pete Hegseth’s newly released financial disclosure lists more than $1 MILLION in a bank account he previously reported as holding just $15,001 to $50,000.
The worst place to be in America isn't poor. It's middle class with no savings.
Open enrollment texted me, so I went down a Medicaid rabbit hole, and I need everyone to understand how broken this is.
If you qualify for Medicaid, a procedure that costs thousands barely costs you anything. Doctor visits, hospital stays, prescriptions, basically covered.
Make $45k a year with "good" employer insurance? Congrats, you're paying hundreds a month in premiums just to hit a $5,000 deductible before anything kicks in. One ambulance ride and your emergency fund is gone. You don't have an emergency fund? Even better, now it's medical debt.
And here's the part that breaks my brain: the system is designed so climbing out is a trap too. Get a raise that pushes you just over the line and you lose coverage overnight. Try to save money while on disability and they cap you at about $2,000 in assets. Poor people are locked in. Middle class people are bleeding out. The only people winning are the ones rich enough to never think about any of this.
We work full time to be one bad diagnosis away from ruin. This country isn't failing the poor or the middle class. It's farming both.
We are so cooked.
😳 WHAT THE ACTUAL 🤬?!
The United States is officially “disappearing” people. Literally deleting them from the system. No record of them at all. Not even where they were sent to. It’s not a glitch or an error. IT’S THE NEW POLICY.
This is really disturbing. I’m not saying they’re killing them, but if family and attorneys get no information, not even where to look for them, they’re definitely making it harder to determine if these deportees are even alive.

The Department of Health and Human Services informed congressional appropriators earlier this year that it was moving about $12 million from Office of Minority Health to help cover the ballooning cost of security for Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr, per WSJ
