Oh heck yeah. Covering our school textbooks with brown paper was de rigeur back in the 1970s. By the mid-80s we went all fancy with the clear, sticky plastic.
Happy June, Twitterverse!
Here's hoping we get to shake off the tired negativity and embrace what's both good and possible.
We deserve to thrive and be open to every meaningful experience.
Keep hope alive!
Be well. Stay safe. Much Love ❤️
THE TRAIL OF TEARS WAS ABOUT MORE THAN LAND.
IT WAS ABOUT ERASURE.
Native nations lost homes.
Languages were threatened.
Sacred places were abandoned.
Families were broken apart.
Thousands died during forced removal marches after the U.S. government pushed Indigenous communities from their ancestral territories.
People walked through sickness, hunger, and freezing weather with little protection and little mercy.
Many never survived the journey west.
Imagine being a child watching your parents struggle to stay alive.
Imagine being forced to leave the graves of your ancestors behind forever.
Imagine knowing you may never see your homeland again.
That pain shaped generations.
And yet many Native people say the topic is still treated too briefly in schools.
Students often learn about westward expansion from the perspective of settlers.
But Native communities experienced that same expansion as displacement, suffering, and loss.
History changes depending on whose voices are included.
That is why Indigenous voices matter.
Because Native history is not separate from American history.
It IS American history.
Why this matters:
• Indigenous remembrance
• Cultural survival
• Historical truth
• Respect for Native voices
• Honest storytelling
Do schools need to teach the Trail of Tears more completely?
YES or NO?
Trump promised to deport violent criminals and “the worst of the worst.” Instead, ICE is terrorizing law-abiding families, detaining an 18-year-old girl weeks from graduation, and denying basic medical care at Delaney Hall.
This brutality is NOT America.

🚨JB PRITZKER EMBARRASSES TRUMP:
This is huge! JB Pritzker just BALANCED the Illinois budget with a $0 deficit.
$0!!!!!
The media won't tell you about Democratic accomplishments, so SHARE THIS EVERYWHERE:
While Trump is cutting SNAP, Pritzker is helping families put food on the table.
While Trump's Iran war is driving up energy costs, Illinois is pausing the gas tax increase.
While Trump is building a ballroom, Illinois is funding schools, building housing, wiping out medical debt, and helping working families.
That's what Democratic governing looks like.
Pritzker is lowering costs.
Trump is RAISING them.
Sadly, a pedestrian is killed every 74 minutes in traffic crashes. Remember, at some point in the day EVERYONE is a pedestrian:
🚶➡️ Follow the rules of the road
🚶➡️ Use crosswalks when available
🚶➡️ Walk on sidewalks when available
🚘 Look out for pedestrians and minimize blind spots
🚘 Be careful in hard-to-see conditions
🚘 Yield to pedestrians in crosswalks

You know what to do ‼️
Trump in 2008: Anyone who invades the Middle East under false pretenses should be impeached.
A message to all sane Republicans:
He pardoned 1,600 violent criminals.
You said nothing.
He bulldozed the East Wing.
You said nothing.
He interfered with the release of the Epstein files. You said nothing.
He took over the Kennedy Center and renamed it after himself. You said nothing.
He accepted a $400 million airplane as a personal gift. You said nothing.
He threatened Canada, Cuba, Denmark, Greenland, Venezuela, Colombia, and Brazil. You said nothing.
He tariffed just about everyone but Russia, causing inflation and instability worldwide. You said nothing.
He attacked a nation during mediated negotiations. You said nothing.
His ill-conceived war killed 175 children on day one. You said nothing.
He alienated and insulted our allies. You said nothing.
His ICE Army terrorized and murdered U.S. citizens. You said nothing.
He committed murder on the high seas. You said nothing.
He co-opted the Justice Department and directed it to prosecute his political enemies. You said nothing.
It’s time to start talking.
HOLY CRAP Trump actually accomplished a miracle. Here is what he got out of Iran:
- Reduce its stockpile of enriched uranium by about 98%
- Limit uranium enrichment to 3.67% purity (far below weapons-grade)
- Cut the number of installed centrifuges by roughly two-thirds
- Only enrich uranium at one declared site (Natanz)
- Stop enrichment activities at Fordow and convert it into a research facility
- Redesign the Arak heavy-water reactor so it could not easily produce weapons-grade plutonium
- Ship out or dilute excess enriched uranium
Allow extensive inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)
Permit continuous monitoring of nuclear facilities and supply chains
- Accept “snap” inspections under expanded monitoring rules
- Avoid building new heavy-water reactors for years
- Stay within strict limits on uranium stockpile size and centrifuge development for set periods ranging from 10–25 years
Ooops, sorry!
That was the JCPOA that Obama signed with Iran, only to have him tear it up, kill 140 kids, get hundreds of Americans injured, 13 killed, and gas prices to surge 50%.
