Ashley quickly turned the page from a Friday night conference loss with a marquee victory to close out the first day of the Wilmington Baseball Classic.

The No. 10 ranked Screaming Eagles picked up big performances from Drew Potter and Cane Mehling to defeat Grace Christian 3-1.

Cane Mehling (@CaneMehling) '25 RHP/OF (NC) - super athletic frame, tons of raw strength and twitchy actions, FB is 86-89 topping out at 90, Sinker and CH have similar arm-side action with 8 mph separation, both high level pitches that play really well in game, SL is the put out pitch, has tight late action that gets a ton of swing and misses, has K'd 75 through 60 IP in HS while only walking 0.5 per inning, not afraid to go right at hitters, can see the velo jumping significantly as well, swings it really well, ball jumps off the bat, uses the whole field and finds ways to get on base, steals a ton of bags as well, hit over .350 during the summer/fall, high level defensive OF that takes great routes with a low 90s arm!
