@CanesBKB and @GHSCanesVB say Go Canes Softball! as we support @GHSSoftball_2 going for their third consecutive district title Thursday night at 7:00 vs. Deltona at Boulware Ballpark.
The 2026-27 reclassification announced by the FHSAA has the Canes in Class 5A District 3.
The other schools in the district are: Clay, Middleburg, Oakleaf, Orange Park and Ridgeview.
Congratulations to @GHSSoftball_2 on tonight’s 9 inning 1-0 win over Trenton. Our @LeannaBourdage (Texas A&M commit) threw a complete game shutout and singled home the winning run besting the Tigers’ Addison Allaire (Florida commit) who was also outstanding in the circle.
The Canes have completed another winning season and the program 20 year record stands at 406-176 (20.3 wins per year) with twelve 20 win seasons and eight regional finals or further.
The Canes will visit region top seed Fleming Island on Saturday at 7:00 pm.
Of the 25 games GHS has played thus far vs. in-state opponents, 21 were against teams that qualified for the FHSAA State Championships.
GHS played 11 games (44%) against teams in FHSAA overall Top 100.
The Canes are in the dance! GHS has received an at-large bid to the 5A Region 1 tournament.
This marks the 16th time in the past 20 years that GHS has qualified for the state playoffs!
Scoring leaders for the Canes tonight were @CraigThomasjr with 15 - and @Aj_hall1 and @Ihoopwillie5 each had 12.
GHS, currently 7th in region in MaxPreps, with two wins against overall top 75 teams since last FHSAA ranking, will await a possible at-large bid.
Leon gets hot from distance in quarter number 2 and has made 7 threes in the first half cutting into a 14 point GHS lead.
