Here at SCES, we studied the work of Jen Stark & her beautiful drip art. We also took ideas from the popular movie, Elemental, to help us create a new mural for our school. Combining both & studying cool & warm color schemes, we finished our masterpiece! @Boone_County @Jen_Stark

Steeplechase primary students created garden gnomes in hopes this would brings us spring weather soon! As a class, we spent time drawing a gnome from observation. After, we put our own creative design on it, using lots of patterns and lines! 🪻🎨🌷 @steeplechaseel @Boone_County

A fun day at Steeplechase Elementary! The Newport Aquarium made a visit and brought stingrays and sharks! We learned a ton about these aquatic creatures and conservation. The students were so excited. Thank you @NewportAquarium, we loved it! 🦈❤️

Hello October! Our SCES artists are busy studying the work of artist/animator, Tim Burton. Students create their own stylized portrait, using Burton’s work as their inspiration. We focus on exaggerated facial features, shading/value, & so much more! @steeplechaseel @Boone_County

Lots of fun art projects happening at SCES! Our 4th graders are completing their Op Art unit based on lines & value, focusing on M.C. Escher. Our 1st grade students are wrapping up their grumpy Paul Klee cats with shapes. Great week in the art room! @steeplechaseel @Boone_County

What a great start to the new school year at SCES! We completed our first school mural to celebrate! Every student, PreK-5th, designed a ”Penrose Triangle” after studying the work of M.C. Escher. We explored OP Art & the history behind art illusions. @steeplechaseel @Boone_County
