@RobProvince With all that high tech imaging software, maybe they can check my phone pics and tell me where the hell that 12mm shallow impact socket went. At least that's something for my tax dollars.
Ida Fuller was the first person to start receiving SS retirement benefits. 1940. $500 in today's $. She paid in $600 (today's $) over two years. When she died in 1975 she had collected $23k. That's $140K in today's $. Nice gig if you can get it.
I’ve been shitting on Social Security for years now, and every single time, I’m told ad fucking nauseam:
“It’s MY money! I paid into it!”
Really? Then why would we need to raise taxes on everyone else just to give you “your” money?
Because it’s NOT your money. Your money was spent almost as soon as it came in. Today’s workers are paying for yesterday’s retirees.
It’s a massive, government run Ponzi scheme. And now, one of the largest generations in American history is collecting benefits.
In a traditional Ponzi scheme, this is where everything implodes: when there aren’t enough new investors coming in to pay off the old ones.
But there’s one crucial difference.
This one is backed by the federal government.
And when there aren’t enough new people paying into the system, the government has something Bernie Madoff never had:
The power to force the next generation to pay more, at gunpoint.
Exactly like I’ve been saying for years.
@KJ730JD@ashesdephoenix@Rothmus This book will make you REALLY think. We now know that polls saying this candidate / party will lose, even if it's total BS will actually cause a significant amount of voters NOT to vote because they think it won't matter.

@mike1zr2@ClaudesBBQ The new sharkbite stuff seems to be a lot better. Maybe it's just me and I've been lucky. Used them where I had no room to get a crimper in there (pex) and to replace old fittings.
@ChuckD1448211@RobProvince Yeah I've had a 2 post rotary, and 4 post movable. Ideally I would want both. 4 post is great for engine / trans and torquing suspension. 2 post is more versatile. Not a big fan of trolley jacks on 4 posts. Had one blow a seal. Hydraulic fluid tastes like ass.
Hey @RobProvince I'm not the most religious guy (organized religion anyway) but as I get older, I think this is my church. I've had plenty of conversations with the almighty underneath a car, in the quiet, in the shop.
@eastcodiesel@RobProvince Of course to be fair, I've also questioned God and why he created some of the engineers that designed some stuff the way they did.
@ChuckD1448211@RobProvince Nope. Over 50. I've had lifts. I plan on building a bigger shop, as this is land where I'll take my final dirt nap, then a 4 and 2 post. (They both have their place). Doesn't bother me. Figure if I can't manage to get under / out I need to workout more.
