3 AFT members are quoted in this article about what will happen if we reopen too quickly, without safety measures in place. #ReopenSafely https://t.co/SurqehSrMx
Once again the @NYPost has a hit piece out on AFT - this time that is trying to make everyday advocacy look nefarious. I'm not linking to the article, because they don't deserve clicks for this, but I do want to say a few things about it.
How do we take what we believe in — the value of public education and the value of justice and the value of labor to create a better life for all — and make it real on a local level so the forces or hate and fear don’t overcome us?
@chrissyteigen this is an amazing thing you are doing God Bless You. I am a 1st grade teacher in the Bronx! My students will need this supplies virtually or in person. I have been a teacher for 23years and supplies is the biggest struggle. Thank you!https://t.co/mpfo9IQHUV
UFT President Michael Mulgrew on @NYGovCuomo statement on school reopening: As Governor Cuomo noted, parents and teachers must be confident that schools are safe before they can reopen. In New York City that is still an open question.
“I am preparing to do whatever we need to do if we think the schools are not safe and the city disagrees with us.” - UFT President Michael Mulgrew

Like many @AFTunion leaders, @UFT's Michael Mulgrew has been working g 24/7 to reopen safely and is now “preparing to do whatever we need to do if we think the schools are not safe and the city disagrees with us.” #ReopenSafely https://t.co/I4ecwQsgfQ
We need @senatemajldr and the Senate to pass the #HEROESact and give Americans across the country a #COVID19 relief bill that reopens schools safely and gets Americans back to work. cc @AFTunion@rweingarten https://t.co/6uhKdej4DR. @UFT@BBOUFT
