@educator4ever36 I moved from a classroom with a huge window to one with none. It was so dark and dingy. I made sure it had yellow material on the walls to brighten it up.
@jenteach13 Here in Texas, it’s the law but if admin isn’t enforcing it, it is too exhausting for us. Plus many districts aren’t collecting at the beginning of the day so then it’s def on us.
@BasedRedWolf I just retired as a HS Science Resource teacher and I had 30 students to monitor goals. When i was a MS Self
Contained teacher, I had to monitor either goals for each subject or goals for each qualifying skill. In MS , I rarely had a conference period, so
HS was easier.
@Razorsnack I just retired as a Special Ed teacher and my family, students, parents and friends recognized the huge effort it takes to be a teacher. I’ve been so blessed that the hard work( yes prepping/training/collaborating in the summers too) has paid off.
@ThrillaRilla369 My husband, 1989, he got sick of standing out in the cold winter , smoking in Fort Erie, Canada , while I was pregnant. He realized it wasn’t worth it.
Retired from teaching Special Ed after 20 years. It’s been a fantastic and frustrating ride! Public school is an awesome vessel. I wish I could fix the issues that plague us. My heart is full of the love that everyone who helped me be the best I could for my students❤️
@TolentinoTeach Since I retired this year, I sent the 1 disruptive kid to his AP or Behavior teacher the last 2 weeks. Before that , I loved it when the students told him to knock it off.
@jenteach13 I had a Super who visited my Self Contained classroom at least 1x a year and she was always so attentive! In contrast , I had one who was checking to make sure doors were locked, when I opened up to see who was doing that , she and the principal NEVER introduced her to me!
