We have seen countless kids hospitalized & even lives lost due to unqualified & uneducated “coaches” running the weight room.
There is no excuse for having faulty, dangerous equipment & unqualified coaches Training the Athletes.
Absolute unacceptable!
“We’re going to face a far worse crisis than what we’re going through this moment,” warns @PeterGrandich. He says ongoing economic turmoil has made the U.S. dollar vulnerable as countries around the world continue to shift away from the currency. Watch interview ➡️ https://t.co/HwOslXQPzb
Mike on the 🎤: A quick note to recruits/parents, if you are looking for a big scholarship. You can’t do one event in college, unless your marks could possibly make the NCAA D1 finals. Good student-athletes are doubling or tripling at the Power 5 level at conference meets.
DQ? Yup
4-6-1 – Unsportsmanlike conduct is behavior that is unethical or dishonorable. It includes, but is not limited to, disrespectfully addressing an official, any flagrant behavior, intentional contact, taunting, criticizing or using profanity directed toward someone.
Should this have been a DQ? 🤔
Judson Lincoln DQed for "Misconduct" after winning the ACC 400m.
Virginia Tech finished 7.5 points behind Clemson for the ACC team title.
According to Milesplit (which I know isn’t perfect):
81 teams in Texas have run sub-42 in the boys 4x100m this year.
For comparison, in North Carolina that number is 3. In California, it’s 16. In Florida, it’s 23.
In 30 states that number is zero.
The depth in TX is insane.
Much of what we see from USATF, World Athletics, and Diamond League meets remind me of my early years at Baylor. Chronic injuries prevented me reaching my potential. For 3 years I tried to fix the problem without addressing the real issue. I hated strength training and basically avoided it. Wasn’t until I committed to it that I finally reached my potential. Strength training is a fundamental requirement for a world class sprinter. Fundamentals are critical to success in anything. HEAD TO HEAD COMPETITION IS A FUNDAMENTAL REQUIREMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL SPORT! Concerts, food trucks, and even fast times, records, or popular athletes dominating a field are not fundamentals for professional sports and will not solve the problem. Unless a structure is created that incentivizes the best athletes to compete head to head on a regular basis, professional track will continue to languish as a struggling semi-professional sport serving only as one step along the journey to the Olympics.
