Step into the extraordinary collecting world of WA Ismay (1910-2001) @YorkArtGallery this week. The exhibition 'The Yorkshire Tea Ceremony' contains works by ceramic heavyweights such as Lucie Rie and Hans Coper. @HelenW_pots accompanying book is a must buy too! @COCAYork
The detail on show @YorkArtGallery's 'Young Gainsborough' is fascinating: the gridding of the study for @NationalGallery's Cornard Wood, the accidental oil spill from feverish work, the portrait sketch (Miss Lloyd) on the back of one of his landscape studies. Don't miss it! 🧐
#YoungGainsborough opens today @YorkArtGallery. The touring exhibition features 25 landscape drawings from the Royal Collection by Gainsborough never displayed before, with Gainsborough's landscape masterpiece Cornard Wood from @NationalGallery https://t.co/zvjz4vxxf8
Less than two weeks to go! @jademontserrat has a gift for creating powerful, thought-provoking and urgent works – and this collaboration with @WebbEllisArt on the triptych ‘Clay, Peat, Cage’ is no different. Particularly looking forward to diving into those sketchbooks
📣 Announcement!
Displayed alongside ‘Young Gainsborough: Rediscovered Landscape Drawings’ will be the UK premiere of a collaborative performance to camera series by Yorkshire-based artists @jademontserrat and Webb-Ellis.

Oooh, what a good bit of art detection. In 2017, art historian Lindsay Stainton examined a book of drawings in the Royal Collection supposedly by Landseer, and saw they were actually by Gainsborough! 25 of them! On show next month, with finished paintings, at York Art Gallery
Exhibition Announcement! ✨ Beyond Bloomsbury: Life, Love and Legacy will open here in March 2022!
It will explore the lives & works of an extraordinary group of writers, artists and thinkers, known as the Bloomsbury Group.

Finally managed to visit @fountainsabbey for @rougeit's exhibition 'These Passing Things'. Temporary large-scale artworks which are refreshing, colourfully striking, and which provoke plenty of conversation between past and present
👏I have fond memories of this painting in our collaborative exhibition with @KaiserChiefs, ‘When All is Quiet’, where the painting was paired with the Beach Boys ‘Caroline No’ 🏝☀️
Our latest Artwork of the Month is on @YorkArtGallery 's canvas 'H. 19 (Canticle)' by John Golding (1929-2012) - seen top left. Many thanks to Prof. Michael White from @ArtHistoryYork for this superb piece ~ https://t.co/7EXUaR5aSR
