@bcbaker66 The Come Follow Him podcast from this week may be of interest to him..a convert scholar from Baylor University was the guest expert. He was marvelous
@RealokpanachiNG You cannot progress by hanging about in your imaginary Garden of Eden, whining that others should contribute to your Go Fund Me, and you should not form a family, while you won't obeywhat the Lord commands. Grow up! Get going, stop whining
@RealokpanachiNG And that's why Eve made the choice she did. Duh...Wake up, Adam!! If you want to progress, you must leave your comfort like Eve knew.. "It is better that we pass thru sorrow that we may know the good from the evil"- Eve. You need to go to the temple more. Get a clue, dude
@kateiswell@TrustHimForever I'm sure you'll follow the spirit, and do the right thing.. it's very very overwhelming. I've only had experiences with friends in this situation, and I don't know what i would do if it were me.
There is a strange thing that happens after enough years together.
You stop looking at each other and start looking in the same direction. At the calendar. At the kids. At the bills, the house, the plans, the long list of things that must get done before Sunday.
It feels like partnership. And it is. But somewhere in it, the person beside you slowly turns into a function. The one who handles the school forms. The one who fixes the sink. The one who is simply there, the way a wall is there.
I have caught myself doing this. Sitting across from my wife at our own table, talking about logistics, and realizing I hadn't actually looked at her face in days. Not looked. Just seen the outline of her and moved on.
The love was never gone. The attention was.
And attention is what love eats.
I think we misunderstand what threatens a marriage. We picture betrayal, some dramatic rupture. But most love doesn't end in fire. It ends in fog. Two good people, still loyal, still committed, quietly becoming strangers who share a mortgage.
What I'm learning — late, honestly — is that the marriage you have is not the one you promised at the beginning. It's the one you keep choosing on an ordinary day when nobody is watching and there's no reason to.
And our children are watching all of it. Not the vacations. Not what we provided. They're absorbing the temperature of this house. How I speak to their mother when I'm tired. Whether I turn toward her or away after a hard word. Whether tenderness is normal here, or rare.
That's the inheritance. That's what they'll carry into their own homes someday.
So look up. Actually look. Reach for their hand at the red light. Ask a real question and wait for the real answer. Apologize before your pride is ready.
Nobody's love survives on the promise you made once.
It survives on the thousand small times you say it again.
@taysoren@CuckooSmurfing@Ch_JesusChrist This looks like it's a digital rendering. It also looks like the same as the Payson Utah temple, and that one is spectacular when viewed in person.
Angus: We have these MAGA politicians basically threatening our sovereignty, saying they’re going to come over the border if we don’t fix the climate catastrophe.
We’ve always crossed the border to help each other.
Right now, we’re mourning the loss of a Canadian firefighter who died in Aspen, Colorado, helping put out an American fire.
