I don't think that most people are grasping this moment right now.
This is Canada vs Google and US interference.
This is one of those times to be loud.
@zunxra@JakeLandauTO Yes, make it a separate capital territory. As it stands, the City of Ottawa is like half the size of the entirety of PEI and almost 16x the size of Washington, DC when it comes to area.
@HenriAGS In fairness he does say to vote for Jim / vote Conservative, but only at the very end of the video. Doesn't give his full name or mention the riding he's running in or the by-election at all, though.
Google should only use the term "Lake Ontario" in the rest of the world.
It is only "Lake America" in America, and, even then, the term is only recognized by some Americans. (New York state, for example, does not recognize it.)
And everyone knows that it won't be "Lake America" any longer once Trump is gone.
Three facts:
(1) There are no citizen-led petitions this October. Elections Alberta rejected the only one (@WaterNotCoalAB).
(2) ALL referenda were written and put forward by Premier Smith and her team.
(3) No one asked for these questions.

I worked at CBC as a journalist for decades. We've had the conversation about the word "terrorism" a few times. It was never about Islam, colonizers or anything like that. Most of the time, it came down to the memory of Nelson Mandela and the ANC. Mandela and the African National Congress were designated terrorists until 2008. How should media have dealt with that? This is the example that was often cited and likely contributed to CBC policy of many years to leave it to attribution.
