Ideally there is some retention from VAN. If so, this is worth a shot. Could be mutually beneficial.

Cutter should ask for 16+. Verbeek can’t tell him he is crazy. He outscored and had more points than Leo last year. Verbeek is in a pickle regardless but that would be comical to watch unfold.

Verbeek should not match this contract. Take the 4 1st rounders and trade 3 and change for Petterson. Keep a center and save 7 million. Helps settle the short term for now until the expensive vets come off the board.
