Mad Max × Fist of the North Star
The first-ever interview between "Fist of the North Star" creator Tetsuo Hara and "Mad Max" creator George Miller is here!
Hara: My work "Fist of the North Star'' was inspired by your work "Mad Max 2.'' I never thought that the day would come when I would be able to meet you 40 years later. It is a great honor to meet you. Thank you so much.
Miller: I have seen your artwork. Thank you for the illustration. I feel that our relationship is one of mutual inspiration. In fact, the connection between Mad Max and Japan is so deep that we had Mahiro Maeda participate in the concept art and design for "Mad Max: Fury Road" and "Furiosa."
Hara: George Miller's vision of the world is wonderful, and I was very much inspired by it. I loved Charlize Theron in "Fury Road," and I was very impressed with Anya Taylor-Joy's portrayal of Furiosa in the new film. And the action scenes were fresh. It's the best. I feel truly amazed by the fact that you're still creating a completely new visual world. I seriously want to be your apprentice.
Miller: Thank you for your wonderful comments. I heard that your work will be adapted into a new animated series.
Hara: What do you do to generate ideas for your films? You seem to be young in sensibility and thought. What is the secret to keep inspiring people? Please let us know.
Miller: What I value is curiosity. In my case, I express myself through images and visuals, but in general, creating a story can never be mastered, even if you have thousands of years of experience. But if you have curiosity, you can keep creating.
Hara: I have never met a director like George Miller, who is constantly evolving. I think it is truly amazing. Thank you very much for your time today.

A surprise performance by @remhq last night at their induction into the @SongwritersHOF - Just one song, an acoustic version of "Losing My Religion" - but it was the first time the 4 original members had played together publicly since 2007. More on @CBSMornings
THREAD: In October 1998, my friend #LarryDavid called, asking if I’d like to develop & produce/direct an HBO special for him. Little did we know that it would lead to a 12-season series over the next 26 years (and immortalize my name as a meme). This Sunday, March 24... (1/3)
