Glorious this evening as temperatures fall back through the 70s and into the 60s after sunset. Some drier air means cooler tonight, with lows mid-40s to low 50s.
Pleasant again on Friday.

How will Hurricane Isaias affect the DC region this weekend?
Isaias became a hurricane Wednesday night and is likely to make landfall along the Gulf Coast Friday night. The National Hurricane Center is warning of life-threatening storm surge and damaging winds along and near the Gulf Coast.
For the DC area, we expect the main impact to be significant rainfall this weekend.

❄️ AccuWeather is out with its winter outlook — and it’s predicting below-normal snowfall for the DC area and much of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
But it cautions that one big snowstorm could still flip the script. Here’s what it expects: https://t.co/B4j5jaMjUE
I created three D.C. calendars for 2027. My usual Seasons of Washington calendar, a new Storms of Washington calendar, and a Best of Stumpy calendar.
Calendars are available on my dcstormchaser website and on the Capital Weather store. I'll include links in the comments.

Look up tonight! Watch for Draconid meteors around 7 to 9 p.m., once it’s dark. It’s one of the few meteor showers best viewed in the evening. However, I captured this Draconid meteor above the eastern horizon early this morning. #Draconids#MdWx#Wx@capitalweather@MeteoMdWX@JustinWeather@WashingtonianWx
Isaias became the first hurricane in the Atlantic this season overnight.
Now up to 80 mph sustained wind. It'll throw our region a wet Sunday, and perhaps a severe weather threat.

Another winner today. A touch warmer and breezier than Wednesday, but good luck finding many clouds.
Pleasant through Saturday... Isaias remnants deliver rain on Sunday. Not all day, but some downpours and on the humid side.

Is today a perfect 10? We gave Wednesday a 10-out-of-10 in our daily digit rating.
A couple of readers commented that perhaps it's a bit too cool — especially this morning, when lows dipped to the 40s — for a perfect score.
On the other hand, 66% of those voting thus far in our daily digit poll have indeed ranked today a '10'.
There is still time to vote! Just look for the "Your call?" link in our latest forecast at: https://t.co/Wk5vA1C6BV
Tropical Storm Isaias will become the season's first hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico, with rapid intensification likely the next few days.
The storm could also deliver substantial rainfall to the DC region this weekend.

We continue to monitor the potential for rain at some point this weekend, which would come from the remnants of a tropical system expected to strengthen in the Gulf of Mexico this week.

🌙 Early risers got quite a show before dawn.
The crescent moon passed directly in front of Jupiter, briefly hiding the giant planet — and its four brightest moons — from view.
