Most of you know about my work with microplastics though my open ocean research. I am now focusing on these tiny plastics in drinking water using a device we developed at my new nonprofit, the Moore Institute for Plastic Pollution Research.
We thought we would start Plastic-Free July with a major accomplishment! Introducing the Tap Trap; this device will allow you to collect plastics coming out of your faucet! It can also be detached and sealed for transport if you want the contents analyzed (1/3)

For our Moore Institute MLK Day of service we cleaned plastic from the San Gabriel River, but couldn't remove all the shopping carts where the green sea turtles feed. Next time!
