This is hard. Friday my mom was admitted to the ER following headaches and cognitive issues. Tests quickly showed a large, golf ball sized brain tumor. Yesterday surgeons worked in tandem to remove it and she's currently in recovery waiting for the pathology report to come back.
World Cup starts in a week. Went into Adidas, everything World Cup. Old Navy and American Eagle, front window displays. Hell, even LIDS had jerseys in the window.
Nike, sponsors of USA, France, Brazil, England and many more...not a damn thing. Not a shirt, jersey, or a ball.
@RaisingCane87 What's more wild is at this specific location, all these stores are grouped together, so the fact every one of them had World Cup displays in the window and Nike didn't was glaringly obvious.
@NateT93 They really doubling down on it being in Foxborough 😂 Will say though, by tournament time next week there will at least be volunteers at the airport to help direct fans, guests, etc... Hopefully some signage along the way as well!
@chriskilroy We are also a month away for the 250th anniversary of our country and you'd think there'd be some kind of Red, White, and Blue display like every other store, but don't even I think I saw that.
@DripPoutineRMCF It does seem regionally there are differences. And I wasn't just shocked at lack of jerseys, there wasn't even a t-shirt or a soccer ball.
@Mariixanna Can I ask where about you are regionally (like East or West coast)? I'm in the Tri-State area, so wondering if some regions just got forgotten.
This has breached containment a bit, so just gonna say, support your local independent journalists covering World Cup this year. A lot of them have full time jobs and are writing for the love of the game on their own dime. Supporting them helps grow the sport in NA.
@AdamCrafton_@TheAthleticFC My first thought was safety. Perhaps they don't want someone lugging a metal Stanley onto the pitch? But odd they are banning even sealed plastic water bottles, when one of the volunteer positions is essentially peeling off the labels of competing brands, like Aquafina.
