Here's my Breeders' Cup Classic video below. It's wide open if you're not going to single Forever Young.
I make the case for Knightsbridge and Magnitude, but I know Forever Young and Sovereignty will both be tough. https://t.co/SOGfRe8prQ
@jrstark3 I thought I read somewhere they're working on rating Napoleon Solo, although I can't remember the article by now.
All of these connections know it would be pace suicide to go with Knightsbridge. Napoleon Solo won't be far back, but I could see him being 2 or 3 lengths away.
It's down to Knightsbridge or Magnitude for me in the Breeders' Cup Classic.
I thought I'd be against speed if Knightsbridge showed up, but who's going to sacrifice by going with him? I hear Napoleon Solo is planning to rate. Magnitude has been sitting off horses in works.
I don't have any knocks on Emphatic in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies.
Even the wide post position is okay assuming she breaks clean. She should have enough natural speed to cross over, maybe not into the lead, but second or third around the first turn.
@Lou2173 There's a first for everything. Curlin maybe had a bad break in 2008 when they ran the Breeders' Cup Classic on synthetic, and he was a better dirt horse.
@PatriotFrisby You're confident enough to bet $10,000 to win on Knightsbridge? Wow.
To me 7/2 is fair on Knightsbridge, but you got to be certain with that kind of money, and even if I like him, I don't know if he's a lock.
@PatriotFrisby Forever Young might be even money, but I can't imagine any other entrant being that low in the Classic.
Knightsbridge's ML of 9/2 sounds about right. Maybe 7/2 at lowest.
@Bart38163552@SovereigntyWon@robynrokn1 It's a wide open race if you're not going to single Hughes. I wouldn't be surprised if Gaudreau ran well. I just can't pick them all.
I'm going to defect to Salahudin in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile.
He's not fast visually. He's not fast on Beyer. I'm expecting an improved version of him though on Friday at Keeneland.
@SovereigntyWon@robynrokn1 That's my guess for Salahudin. There's only so much room mathematically for horses to be under 5-1. Hughes will obviously take a huge chunk. Coach Pope and American History will have supporters.
@robynrokn1 Bettors are drawn to big Beyers and Salahudin doesn't have one. I could see him at 9/2 by post time in the Juvenile, but probably not any lower.
Here's my video below covering the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies and Juvenile at Keeneland this week.
Either Emphatic or Foxiest in the Juvenile Fillies for me, and I want to give Salahudin a chance in the Juvenile based on the great worktab. https://t.co/hN1J51wQDL
Hughes' Oct. 25 work in company with Newton is really good. Newton is no pushover, but he couldn't keep pace.
I still think I'd want some kind of value in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile rather than taking him at even money.
@HankySoulard I'm okay with it. Further Ado was inside in the pocket in the Pennsylvania Derby and handled it well despite the loss. He didn't just fold like in the Haskell.
But I'll think about it more. I'm just not impressed with most of the Dirt Mile field.
It looks like Further Ado is in the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile.
I still want to see the final PPs, but it's either him or Full Serrano for me. Most likely I'd prefer the 3-year-old hitting his peak.
Explora is drawn perfectly in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint.
I wanted an outside post for her, and she got it with Post 11. She can settle 2-3 lengths off the pacesetter and make her move in the clear around the turn.
