🚨 Extend Tax Audit Due Date | #ExtendTaxAuditDueDate

Does anyone have data on how many Tax Audit Reports (TARs) have been filed so far this year?

Why is the filing data not being disclosed, along with a comparison with the corresponding period last year? @IncomeTaxIndia

I believe the number of TARs filed so far is well below 20% of the total expected filings.

Tax Auditors should ideally be applying auditing skills, professional judgement & due diligence during Audits

Instead,they are forced to work with an impractical deadline constantly on their minds

Not good for auditors, assesses & Tax ecosystem as a whole!!

Hey Tax Professionals on Twitter,

I know you are under extreme pressure to meet the Tax Audit deadline.

The work remains the same, but the time available has effectively been reduced by half. This is a genuine practical difficulty faced by tax professionals across the country.

Some associations are already writing to the authorities for an extension — that is important, but it is not enough.

We need to do two things now:

1️⃣ Explore legal remedies, including approaching the court.

2️⃣ Run a strong, vocal Twitter campaign using #ExtendTaxAuditDueDate

But an extension alone is not the permanent solution.

We need a structural change in the tax compliance calendar. The Tax Audit due date should be permanently shifted to 31 October, so that there is a reasonable and workable gap between the Non-Audit ITR deadline and the Tax Audit deadline.

Don't suffer in silence.
Don't be afraid to raise your voice for the right cause.

Your voice is your power.

This is not about avoiding work. It is about ensuring that taxpayers and tax professionals have a reasonable, practical and sustainable compliance timeline - this year and every year.

Ask for relief today.
Demand a permanent solution for tomorrow.

Tax Audit due date must be extended to 31.10.2026.

TAR extension is not a demand for more time but it's for quality compliances.

Quality audit is not possible outside date extension.

No revenue loss to govt , taxes are paid via advance tax/self-assessment regardless.

* क्षत्रिय वंश की रक्षा: भगवान परशुराम के क्रोध से बचने के लिए जब राजाओं ने माता की शरण ली, तो माता ने उन्हें 'ब्रह्मक्षत्रिय' बनाकर जीवनदान दिया।

* आक्रांताओं पर भारी चमत्कार: कट्टरपंथियों के हर हमले को नाकाम करने वाली इस पवित्र गुफा की रक्षा आज भी स्थानीय बलूच मुस्लिम 'बीबी नानी' (नानी पीर) मानकर करते हैं।
