July 10, 1999, at Obafemi Awolowo University, Black Axe brutally murdered George Iwilade (Afrika) and four others in cold blood.
George Iwilade, a.k.a "Afrika" 21-year-old, 300-level Law student and Secretary-General of the Student Union was a fearless, brilliant student and easily recognized for his traditional attire.
He openly fought against cultism on campus.
Afrika led the raid in school were Black axe was gathering, they seized guns, axe, dagger, black clothing and regalia of the Black Axe confraternity.
The nine students were handed to the university authorities and the local police. The suspects were discharged and acquitted by a magistrate court after the evidence mysteriously went missing during the trial.
Then came the revenge:- Friday night, July 9, 1999, thousands of Kegites from other universities across Nigeria gathered at the OAU campus for their festival.
The crowd was massive. There was loud singing, drumming, and palm wine drinking. 40 masked Black Axe members wearing black used this opportunity to enter the campus unnoticed.
By 3-4 a.m, July 10 , They entered the students hostel shouting the names of specific student union leaders, firing guns.
They entered Awolowo hall, Room 273, Block 8, Africa was shot on head in the bed while sleeping and repeatedly cut with an axe, leaving him with no chance of survival.
They searched for the SUG President Lanre Adeleke ("Legacy"), who escaped through the balcony.
Four innocent students were killed, Eviano Ekelemu - a 400-level medical student who met them on the way, Babatunde Oke, Efe Ekpede and Yemi Ajiteru, a graduating student who only returned to campus to clear his carryover.
This is one of the darkest chapters in the history of Nigerian universities which brought the country to a standstill.
Today is 27 years and every July 10, students, alumni, and civil society groups organize candlelight processions, symposiums, and remembrance marches for the OAU 5.
George Iwilade "Afrika" lost his life but his story continues to inspire generations of OAU students.

How to Know the Number of Bags of Cement Needed to Plaster a Room.
Today, I’ll break it down step by step on how you can calculate the number of cement bags required to plaster your building.
Let’s take a room of 12 × 12 feet (3.6 m × 3.6 m) with a headroom of 3.0 m.
Step 1: Surface Area
We are plastering four walls, each 3.6 m long × 3.0 m high.
Area of one wall = 3.6 m × 3.0 m = 10.8 m²
For four walls = 10.8 × 4 = 43.2 m²
Total plastering area = 43.2 m²
Step 2: Plaster Thickness
Typical plaster thickness = 15 mm (0.015 m).
Volume of plaster = 43.2 m² × 0.015 m = 0.648 m³
Step 3: Mix Ratio
Common plaster mix = 1:4 (cement : sand) by volume.
Total parts = 1 + 4 = 5
Cement portion = ⅕ × 0.648 = 0.1296 m³
Step 4: Convert Cement Volume to Bags
Volume of 1 bag of cement (50 kg) = 0.035 m³
Number of bags = 0.1296 ÷ 0.035 = 3.7
≈ approximately 4 bags of cement
Therefore, you will need about 4 bags of cement to plaster the room.
Apply this same method to other sections of your building, and you’re good to go.

P.S: This is one of the most controversial takes I've seen.
Experts in the house, over to you.
In the Yoruba culture, ÀROKÒ is a non-verbal semiotic system of communication.
For Example, Sending a broom to someone means - you no longer want to see them in your house.
PÁKÒ (chewing stick)
When you receive a chewing stick from an opposite sex, hmmm... It means "I LOVE YOU"
ỌSÀN (Orange)
When you receive an orange from someone, maybe sent through somebody else, it means I am pleased with you. It could also mean I love you.
ÌYARUN/ÒÒYÀ (comb)
A comb is used ordinarily for combing hair, I.e for separation of tangled hair.
This phenomenon is transfered in coded Yoruba Àrokò. Sending a comb to someone far away means separation or ending Of friendship/relationship or love affair.
ẸNÍ (mat)
The sending of a piece of mat raffia especially of ore type is an indication that someone is sick in the household of the receiver and such a person is very lean.
Ọ̀JÁ/GBÀJÁ
Receiving some part of cloth used to tie Baby means the pregnant woman you left home has successfully put to bed.
IGBÁ ÒFÌFO (An empty Calabash)
When a king receives an empty Calabash, parrot egg or skull.
It means the people are no longer pleased with him, he should commit suicide.
OWÓ ẸYỌ (cowrie shells)
Owó ẹyọ is an object widely used to indicate many things in different àrokò, depending on the packaging and their number.
A cowrie shell with a string attached to it is a sign of bad thing or that unfavorable thing happened.
Two cowries shells tied together facing each other sent to a party or another group means we are in agreement with you or your view, there is harmony.
But when the two shells are tied backing each other, it means disagreement, it means discord.
symbolizes rejection and unfavorable message.
Traditionally, the Yoruba abhor the giving of things in three (3).
Three in Yoruba numerology is confusing.
Six cowries tied together in 3 pairs, it is an expresion of emotion.
Ẹ̀fà (6) is symbolic in Yoruba numerology, it Means attraction.
Ẹ̀fà ló ní kíẹ fà mí mọ́ra (It is six that says draw me closer).
So this Àrokò means the sender is longing to see the receiver. Or simply put, it means I MISS YOU.
ÌRÙKẸ̀RẸ̀ (flywhisk/horsetail)
Sending of Irukere - flywhisk and cowrie shells from one monarch to Another is a request for agreement or solidarity or farewell.
ÌBỌN/Ẹ̀TÙ (Gun or gunpowder)
Gun or gunpowder is a communication means between states or towns to express a conflict or war.
It tells the receiving town or village to prepare for an imminent war with the sender.
IYỌ̀ (salt)
Salt or honey is sent in opposite meaning to gunpowder. It means peace, harmony and solidarity between the two towns or parties.
Sending both sword and salt to another party in an unresolved issue means the receiver should choose between war and peace."

Only the accursed would celebrate the cold-blooded murder of innocent men, women and children in the sanctity of their homes and in the dead of the night all in the name of seizing power in a miltary coup.
You need to be callous to see anything good in such gratuitous and mindless blood-letting and violence.
Those that carried out those barbaric acts paid a heavy price for what they did but apparently no lessons have been learnt.
Worse are those that resent us for mourning our fallen heroes and that mock us for remembering our dead.
The hottest place in hell is reserved for such heartless and bestial souls.
The horrendous events of January 15th 1966 must NEVER happen again.
May the souls of
1. Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, the Prime Minister of Nigeria,
2. Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto and the Premier of the Old Northern Region,
3. Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola, the Aare Ana Kakanfo of Yorubaland and the Premier of the Old Western Region,
4. Chief Festus Samuel Okotie-Eboh, the Oguwa of the Itsekiris and the Minister of Finance of Nigeria,

In case you don't know why Davido is trending: here's it⤵️
🗣️FROM ANU'S MUM: My name is Ayo Labinjoh. I am NOT Davido's baby mama or a bltch. lam very protective of my daughter's mental health after the level of bully!ng she went through for years. David Adeleke has largely ignored me for years because he thought he picked up a prostitute from GQClub in Ibadan. I was a waitress and not picked up on the streets. My daughter is trending on X because her dad needed to call me a bltch that he has never met yet he subjected himself to a DNA test 5X? Dr Deji Adeleke took us to a LAB not a hospital where Anu's blood was drawn in 2014 then discarded behind our backs and a fake result was printed
Wale Sobola was the lab technician who masked as "Dr Alex" and a brother to Sotayo Gaga a Nollywood actress. My daughter is fighting for her identity.
David chatted my daughter tonight threatening to lock me up, curs!ng Anu and repeatedly bully!ng her. David is a US citizen. I will request the US State Department to contact the mission in Lagos or Abuja to help us supervise and witness a clean independent DNA test. My daughter did not beg to be here. The language you used was awful. To those saying Davido should adopt my daughter, Anu is not an orphan neither is he looking for charity. Calling me a b!tch when he has 4 daughters? God is not asleep.”
The first woman is Hajia Hafsat Bello. She was the wife of Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto & Premier of the Northern Region.
She took care of many as the wife of the Premier including one Major Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu who headed the Officers Training College in Kaduna. Nzeogwu was treated like a son by Sardauna.
Hafsat often sent food on special occasions like Sallah to Nzeogwu & his officers. They made them feel at home in Kaduna.
Despite that in the early hours of the morning of January 15th 1966, during the first coup, Nzeogwu went to Sardauna's home & not only killed him but killed Hafsat & Zurumi, the Premier's traditional bodyguard, as well.
Hafsat threw her body on her husband to shield him when she saw them coming whilst Zurumi charged the soldiers with his sword drawn but to no avail. All three of them were killed by Nzeogwu's bullets.
This was after he had shot Sergeant Daramola Oyegoke, one of his own men, who had refused to shoot Sardauna.
The second woman in the picture is Mrs. Lateefat Ademulugen. She was the wife of Brigadier Samuel Ademulegun, Commander of the 1st Division of the Nigerian Army, based in Kaduna.
In the early hours of the morning of January 15th 1966, during the coup, a group of young soldiers stormed their home & burst into their bedroom which they shared with their two children, Solape & Adegoke.
They were led by Major Timothy Onwuatuegwu, an officer of the Military Training College in Kaduna, who was not only under the command of Ademulegun but was also like a son to him & a close family friend.
As they proceeded to shoot Ademulegun, Lateefat, who was 8 months pregnant, pleaded with the young officers to spare her husband & attempted to shield him from them with her body.
Her pleas fell on deaf ears as Onwuatuegwu shot both Ademulegun & his wife right in front of their children.
These two women chose to die with their husbands in a florry of bullets rather than live without them.
Such was their love & loyalty.
They were a pride to womanhood and to Nigeria.
We shall never forget them.
The mother of the teenage girl who claims to be Davido’s daughter has come forward with a detailed account of what she and her child allegedly endured in their long-running paternity dispute with the music superstar.
Ayo Labinjoh, in a lengthy statement shared online, revealed that she stayed silent for years to protect her daughter’s fragile mental health. Her daughter, Anu, had earlier cried out publicly for a DNA test, recounting how classmates bullied her for years over her claimed identity.
She narrated how the teenager fainted in school and required psychotherapy due to the constant ridicule.
She also claimed Davido dismissed her because he believed she was someone he met at a club in Ibadan many years ago.
She wrote: “David Adeleke has ignored me for years because he thought he picked up a pr*stitute from GQ Club in Ibadan. I was a waitress, not a pr*stitute. I come from a good home.”
In her statement, Ayo challenged Davido’s claim of five DNA tests. She alleged that the only test she remembers happened in 2014, facilitated by Davido’s father.
According to her, the blood sample drawn from Anu was allegedly discarded behind their backs, and a fake result was produced. She referenced a lab technician who reportedly admitted years later that he never conducted the test and blamed his misfortune on the incident.

“Why Should I Be Concerned About People Who Will Feed Me Burgers Denying Me a Visa When I Can Visit Nigeria to Eat Jollof Rice?” — South African Politician Julius Malema Reacts to U.S. Visa Denials
Julius Malema, leader of South Africa’s Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), has said he is unconcerned about being denied entry into countries like the United States or the United Kingdom. In a recent statement, Malema said:
“Even if America decides that I should no longer enter America, it’s okay. I will enter Zimbabwe. I will enter Botswana, I will enter Nigeria, I will enter Africa, my home. Why should I be concerned about people who are going to feed me burgers, and make me fat when I can go to Nigeria and eat jollof rice with goat pepper soup?”
He emphasized that Africa offers plenty of opportunities and delights, including its rich cuisine, particularly Nigeria’s jollof rice and goat pepper soup, suggesting that he has no reason to worry about countries that restrict his travel.
Malema’s remarks underscore his commitment to Africa and reflect his confidence in the continent’s hospitality and culture over Western destinations.
