Sublime returns today with ‘Until the Sun Explodes,’ their first full-length under the Sublime name in thirty years. Their last self-titled 1996 album was released two months after frontman Bradley Nowell died at 28.

Leading the band is Jakob Nowell, Bradley’s son, who was eleven months old when his father died. He spent the better part of a decade building his own musical identity before agreeing to step into this role following a 2023 benefit concert in Los Angeles.

The 21-track record was made close to home, recorded at Harbor Martyr Studios in San Pedro with original members Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson. It features guest appearances from H.R. of Bad Brains, G. Love, and Fletcher Dragge of Pennywise, among others. Jakob has described the album as “a love letter to [his] father” and has said it will be the last @sublime record he makes.
