Children in playroom 1 spent a week taking a project from start to finish. So many skills used to get to the end result. They worked so well together, problem solving, sharing ideas & turn taking. *Playroom 1 parents have a look at our learning wall to see what else we learned!*
Playroom 1 have been building their own planes. Exploring length and measure, thinking about how things are powered, safely using tools, making considerations about why things are designed the way they are and lots of working together to share ideas and learn together. #STEM

Playroom 1 chose to have a walk to the woods this week. While walking to the woods we spotted some signs of spring, we chatted about the seasons & other changes we might notice like when it gets dark. We challenged the children to notice if itβs light/dark at tea time & bedtime.
Playroom 2 made their own Solar System- giving the opportunity to learn the technique of paper mache, use pictures as references to create accurate models, learn the names of the planets in our Solar System & practise their emerging writing skills when labelling them. π°οΈπ§βπβοΈπͺπ
After chatting to the children about Chinese new year this week, big discussions developed around cultural differences. This then sparked an interest in using different utensils. The children explored using chopsticks which also helped develop their fine motor skills.π₯’πππ§‘

Playroom 1 children love making birthday cakes! This allows the children to measure, understand quantities and following instructions. They also love visiting the local shop to buy the ingredients and learn about using real money and understanding value. π§ ποΈ
