So I intend to advocate for police reform in other ways and elsewhere and that will actually make a difference, allow vigorous debate (face to face), and that will have an impact. It’s happening. But it won’t be here. This account is being deleted. Bravo yankee echo. Over.

I love to be shown to be wrong. It means a point is good. Others only want to show they are right. Also, there should never be debates that are off limit by virtue of their subject. Restricting or shutting down debate makes us less free, and I’m not interested in that either.

I know this tweet was after a colleague got shot, but from above I find this rather creepy. In the context of a shooting it’s awesome, but in others it is downright dangerous to the public.

@ESOP_STL That’s a shame. There’s always comfort in the binary - good and bad, right and wrong - but a complete aversion to shades and uncertainty. It’s why many cops run from evidence-based policing. But until we get comfortable with uncertainty, discussion remains unsophisticated.

@ESOP_STL I can’t stress how genuine I am in not knowing if this is a hard no. I thought what Lenny Henry did was amazing. Say someone white did the same to experience life as a POC - perhaps as a social science exercise? Experiencing empathy would be good, no? Where’s the boundary?
