Great to welcome US Commander @US7thFleet Vice Admiral Sawyer yesterday, and to be able to tell him more about what the team have been doing on #PacificPartnership 2018.
So I finally got my cameraman in front of the camera. Byron Linder, receiving an award for the incredible work he has done on this deployment. Thoroughly well deserved. Thank you Byron for turning this incredible journey into amazing pictures.
Supporting the Mission Commander receive guests at a reception to mark our arrival in Yokosuka. MERCY has made a big splash here in Japan, and we are looking forward to taking her to Tokyo for the important events she will be doing there.
A great honour to ‘frock up’ Petty Officer Hall – a SeaBee - who was part of our mission team in USNS BRUSNWICK. He did a great job in Yap, Palau and Tawau and it was a real privilege to share the moment with him.
JDS Ohsumi put on quite a show for us in @MSCSealift USNS MERCY with their ship and LCACs. Great to see the technical excellence and professionalism on display from our Japanese partners on #PacificPartnership 2018.
Sad to see @MSCSealift USNS BRUNSWICK leave the mission after Vietnam. She has been a fine command platform for my team from Guam, to Yap, Palau, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Thank you to Captain Charles Black and his amazing crew of civilian mariners. God speed.
My team has embarked back on board Mercy, one #PacificPartnership 2018 squad again, and we have come to the end of our time in Vietnam. Many thanks to our new Vietnamese friends for an amazing visit, and thank you also for the fine send-off you gave us.
A pleasure to meet with #PacificPartnership 2018 engineers and play a part in recognizing and celebrating the great work they did at the Dien Dong Medical Clinic.
Fantastic to meet with US Ambassador to Vietnam, Dan Kritenbrink, and discuss the great things our #PacificPartnership 2018 team has accomplished throughout the mission stops.
Great to have the #PacificPartnership 2018 team back together again and to be by Mission Commander Captain Bretz’s side – joining him for a beach cleanup in Nha Trang following recent rough weather.
Many thanks to our JDS Ohsumi hosts for taking some of my
#PacificPartnership 2018 team and I around their ship. Absolutely
fantastic vessel and people, and an incredibly valuable partner in our
mission.
A great privilege to speak at the #PacificPartnership 2018 humanitarian assistance and disaster relief symposium here in Vietnam. We’ve proven the value of working together in all areas with our hosts, as we strive to increases capacities and resilience across the region.
First day back on the job working with team MERCY. Great to see firsthand the work their SeaBee engineers have been doing in Vietnam for #PacificPartnership, and to mark the completion of a local school project. Brilliant also to meet the kids of Vietnam, who are awesome.
Fantastic to have JDS Osumi join #PacificPartnership 18 here in Vietnam. Really enjoyed getting to know their team today on the sports field. Looking forward to working with them on the next leg of the mission.
