Nasir El-Rufai does not deserve this from the APC. Shame on all APC Northern Governors for their silence.
Asiwaju would not have become President without Nasir’s political support & doggedness. Uba & Nuhu were largely inconsequential to the 2023 presidential victory.
Politics aside, this is shitty!
I am deeply saddened and horrified by the brutal lynching of Teacher Ummulkhairi on Sunday, 21st June 2026, in Kaduna. An innocent woman whose only “offence” was asking for directions to attend a lecture, was subjected to an act of unimaginable cruelty. This barbaric act is a stain on our collective conscience. No suspicion or allegation without evidence can ever justify mob violence. The sanctity of human life is fundamental to both our faith and our laws, yet she was denied due process and killed in the most inhumane manner.
Equally disturbing is the reported presence of security personnel at the scene, yet without effective intervention. Every Nigerian deserves the full protection of the law, and jungle justice must never be normalised under any circumstances.
Beyond this incident, I strongly condemn the rising pattern of mob violence across the country, often fuelled by rumours, misinformation, and instant judgment. No society can thrive where citizens take the law into their own hands.
I call on security agencies to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation and ensure that all those responsible, direct perpetrators, instigators, and any negligent actors are brought to justice. Stronger preventive measures must also be urgently put in place to prevent a recurrence.
My thoughts and prayers are with her family. May Allah (SWT) forgive her shortcomings, grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus, and comfort her loved ones.May justice prevail.

During the Iran–US war, crude oil prices rose from about $67 to $109 per barrel, and PMS in Nigeria went from around N860 to N1,360.
Today, crude oil has dropped to about $78 per barrel, the exchange rate has also improved, yet PMS is still selling for around N1,360.
I am genuinely struggling to understand the calculation again.
NOTE: Naira to USD has slightly improved, so it cannot be FX.
As we continue to celebrate this blessed Eid, I had the honour of observing the Eid prayers yesterday at Maiduguri Street, Doka, alongside the good people of Kaduna North. Moments like these remind us of the beauty of community, faith, and togetherness. Beyond the festivities, Eid is a season of gratitude, sacrifice, compassion, and renewed commitment to one another.
I remain deeply grateful for the prayers, support, and goodwill of our people. Kaduna North will always be home, and I will continue to cherish every opportunity to stand, pray, and celebrate with my people.
May Allah (SWT) accept our fast, sacrifice and prayers as acts of Ibadah. May He bless our homes with peace and happiness, and continue to unite us in love and understanding. Eid Mubarak to everyone on behalf of the excellent people of Kaduna North.

When Sunusi Lamido Sunusi was sacked from the CBN and wanted to be humiliated by the then-government, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai was amongst the first people who stood by him.
Mallam was not a governor then; he had no immunity.
But like I always say, if you are looking for an excuse, you will always find it.
Wato I love SLS with all my heart amma his silence about Mallam’s unjust humiliation is tooo much that I am beginning to think he is enjoying it like the rest, NUHU BAMALLI has also forgotten. it is well, we will never forget. This is pure betrayal.
In the name of Allah SWT, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful. If running again will not be in the interest of the excellent people of Kaduna North and Nigerians as whole. Then may God give it to another. In the coming weeks, I will be going around by the grace of God to engage the people of Kaduna North in their homes and streets, as well as the stakeholders of our party, the African Democratic Congress, (ADC). I am not entitled to anything and I will work as hard as I can and always do to state our record and convince the public. We will do this while willing to support whoever emerges in the primary election. Regardless of the outcome we will campaign for the candidates in our party with the precision, honesty and transparency we are known for. My focus is still ensuring justice for our dear father, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai but we will be testing this mic from this week Insha Allah. See you soon.

Press Release: Our father, Mallam Nasir @elrufai, is still being held by the ICPC. Today, 15 May 2026, we witnessed two distinct yet equally serious attacks on his basic rights. First, his personal Doctor visited the ICPC at about 3pm to discuss the results of medical tests recently conducted on our father. Officials at the agency blocked the doctor from seeing him, claiming that written permission from the ICPC Chairman was required. This directly flouts a clear court order granting Mallam Nasir El‑Rufai unrestricted access to his doctors.
Second, his wife, Aunty Aichatou, brought his evening meal at around 7pm as she normally does. ICPC personnel turned her away, saying they had orders not to permit food deliveries after 6:30pm. This arbitrary rule is no less offensive than blocking his right to medical care.
These acts are an outright assault on the rule of law and a clear violation of our father's constitutional and human rights. No lawful detention justifies denying medical access or refusing basic family care based on an arbitrary curfew fixed by the ICPC. Shame on them as an institution.
We demand that all his constitutional rights be fully respected. We will no longer accept this pattern of intimidation dressed up as protocol. The ICPC must abide by the very laws it claims to enforce.

FREE MALLAM NASIR AHMAD EL-RUFAI, NOW!
In every democracy, opposition voices must be challenged with ideas — not silenced with prison walls. When political participation becomes grounds for persecution, democracy itself is placed on trial.
Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has now spent months in custody over what many Nigerians believe are politically motivated and trumped-up charges. Even more disturbing are reports that the path to his freedom comes with political conditions: return to the APC or abandon active politics entirely.
That is not justice.
That is coercion.
That is political intimidation dressed up as due process.
Nigeria cannot claim to be a democratic nation while dissenting voices are punished for refusing to bow. The right to political association, opposition, and participation is guaranteed in every constitutional democracy. No citizen should have to negotiate freedom in exchange for political surrender.
If there is a credible case against him, let it be heard openly, fairly, and speedily before a competent court. But continued detention under questionable circumstances only deepens public suspicion that the machinery of state is being weaponised against opposition figures.
This is bigger than Nasir El-Rufai.
It is about the soul of Nigerian democracy.
It is about whether citizens are still free to disagree, contest power, and speak without fear.
Mallam Nasir El-Rufai must be released immediately — even if on bail — pending the fair determination of his case.
A democracy that jails opposition voices today may have no opposition left tomorrow. A nation without opposition, is a nation under dictatorship.

God bless Nigeria

In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. A few hours ago, the Rt. Hon. Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas GCON, announced my letter of resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and my formal move to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) at plenary. I am now a member of the ADC, and I will be seeking re‑election to continue representing the good people of Kaduna North Federal Constituency on this platform.
I am joined in this new chapter by our respected elder, Hon. Engr. Suleiman Richifa, representing Soba, and my dear brother, Hon. Umar Ajilo, representing Makarfi/Kudan, who both defected from their previous parties to the African Democratic Congress. Together, we are building a home for progressive, people‑focused service.
This decision was not taken lightly. As a proud son of Mallam Nasir @elrufai, I am guided by courage, conviction, and the unshakable belief that our people deserve the very best. To the people of Kaduna North: our work continues, and it will not stop. We will never compromise on delivering quality representation. There is still so much to do.
By the grace of God, I will soon announce the ad hoc committee for the Primary Health Care initiative I unveiled last week. We will be equipping Primary Health Care Centres with medical supplies, starting with 1,000 syringes per PHC and other essential items. Phase I begins with two centres: Unguwar Sarki Ward and Badarawa/Malali Ward.
May Allah SWT continue to guide us as we serve the people. And may He bless Nigeria with the best leaders.

Press Release: El-Rufai issues public alert. Malam Nasir El-Rufai wishes to alert the public to certain malicious orchestrations directed against him. The unwarranted effort to arrest him upon his arrival at Abuja Airport from Cairo on 12 February 2026 served as a clear signal of more troubling developments to follow. On 16 February 2026, Malam El-Rufai honoured an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He was detained, then transferred to the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on the night of 18 February. He remains in detention and has been arraigned in two separate high courts.
On 18 April 2026, The Nation newspaper published a report headlined “El-Rufai’s trial: Gunmen invade principal witness home.” The article stated that Mohammed Umar Karage, a witness in the criminal proceedings at the Kaduna State High Court, had reported to the police that armed individuals had invaded his residence. While it is the civic duty of every citizen to report crimes to the authorities, it is an entirely different matter to publish false imputations against others.
The Nation proceeded to do precisely that by including innuendos suggestive of a plot to frame Malam Nasir El-Rufai. According to the report, Mr. Karage linked the incident to his role as a witness in the corruption charges against El-Rufai—specifically one of the nine counts involving the alleged unlawful revocation and reallocation of land. The article further quoted Mr. Karage as alleging that the invasion might be part of an effort to silence him, drawing parallels with the controversial disappearance of Kaduna-based activist Abubakar Idris Dadiyata.
Any objective reader would recognise the clear intent behind these statements: to smear Malam Nasir El-Rufai’s reputation, jeopardise his pending bail application at the Kaduna State High Court, and implicate him in serious capital offences. The evident objective is to secure his indefinite detention through these reprehensible tactics. Such conduct is unacceptable, particularly toward a citizen who has made substantial contributions to our country.
Malam Nasir El-Rufai is an upstanding and law-abiding citizen who has no connection whatsoever to the incidents described in The Nation’s publication. Therefore, he has already instructed his legal team to initiate defamation proceedings in this matter.
Since 2023, Malam El-Rufai has been subjected to an appalling and sustained campaign of innuendos and vilification. This is a man with a distinguished record of public service. Many will recall his sterling service to the cause of national unity through his principled opposition to opportunism, alongside other senior leaders, during the events leading to the 2022 primaries of the ruling party and thereafter.
The rule of law must never be perverted into a tool of oppression. Legal processes should serve the ends of justice, not be employed to deny a citizen his fundamental right to liberty while he stands trial. Malam Nasir El-Rufai should be accorded full due process guaranteed by law to every citizen, and the persistent disregard for his rights must cease immediately.

By Thursday, we will be announcing Phase IV of the Health Insurance for vulnerable citizens in Kaduna. The figure takes us to over 1, 000 in partnership with KACHMA. I missed being in the office. In the next few weeks, I will state my position politically. I owe the public that. I always state whatever I do through my handles. I was with my father for a few hours and he is fine with me running. As God is my witness, and on behalf of the excellent people Kaduna North, I will be running for office in 2027, if alive. We will still focus on the job we were elected to do, and there are a few leaders, Northern Statesmen and fathers that I have to speak to. My position is peculiar. But I have tried to handle with honour and dignity. My wife and I have decided this is the right course. And my people are with me, on social media and offline. I have never feared an election for a day. But it is the right of anyone to try. Respect that right knowing my record speaks for me. Thank you.
My brief remarks in Hausa today at the Kaduna State High Court after Mallam Nasir @elrufai’s case was adjourned until April 14th, 2026. We continue to stand with Mallam in solidarity. We are proud of his administrative excellence and his public service record from his days in the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), Ministry of Federal Captial Territory and as the father of Modern Kaduna. I used the opportunity to commiserate with our brothers and sister that were tragically killed in Jos and Maiduguri. May Almighty God bless their souls. And may He guide we leaders to focus on the what really matters. The safety and socio-economic development of our citizens.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. From Allah SWT we came and to Him we shall all return. I would like to inform the public of the demise of my Grandmother, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai who passed away a few hours ago. She is the biological mother of our father, Mallam Nasir @elrufai. We are grateful for the life she lived and may Allah SWT bless her gentle soul. May He bless the soul of the parents we have lost. On behalf of our family, we seek your prayers. Thank you.
‘Unless betrayed, our loyalty and fidelity to friends are permanent and pensionable. Unless reconciled, our opposition and enmity to traitors are permanent and pensionable.’ To all of you speaking out on behalf of Mallam, thank you. May God bless you all and may Nigeria thrive.
