@VoteMarsha The American government cannot protect its citizens if it doesn’t first protect and secure its elections. Contaminated elections yield a contaminated, non-representative government
Americans (also known as U.S. Citizens) cannot have confidence in their elected representatives if the Congress doesn’t pass measures to ensure only U.S. Citizens’ votes are determining the outcome of those elections. There have been too many recent examples that erode confidence. The Senate’s refusal to directly address this issue is an insult to every American and it will forever erode “We The People’s” faith in our representative republic.
No other issue matters more, IMO. Secure the elections by passing The SAVE Act. Make sure it applies to the 2026 mid-terms. That simple action will help restore the faith in our government for people on all sides of the political spectrum. It’s basic infrastructure and a foundational requirement that must be addressed for anything else to work.
We can accept a spectrum of government decisions and policies, so long as “We The People” have confidence that those making the decisions have been elected from the votes of eligible U.S. Citizens only. That confidence has been severely undermined and eroded for many reasons. It’s such an easy and simple fix to restore faith, it only requires a tiny bit of courage.
@SenAshleyMoody@RepGusBilirakis
@SenTomCotton It means almost nothing if the @SenateGOP fails to pass the SAVE Act. It IS the most important thing you can do for ALL U.S. citizens. You have the majority and the vast majority of citizens want it. Do the right thing.
@SenRickScott@SenAshleyMoody
Failure of the @SenateGOP to take the steps you suggest will undermine the base and greatly diminish any support for the party moving forward. We are in a critical time, once in a generation. Failing to secure our elections will erode, diminish, and undermine our country for decades to come. Almost nothing else can happen before addressing this single issue. Failing to pass the basic identification requirements insults approximately 80% of all US citizens. Do the right thing without delay, stop playing stupid games!
@LeaderJohnThune You have no standing to ask for anything Leader Thune. You’ve betrayed every US citizen and you’re destroying any remaining support for the Republican Party.
@SpeakerJohnson The congressional leadership owns these absolute failures to serve the American people. Positively deplorable in so many ways. Beyond words.
@SenRickScott How are you working to pass the SAVE Act? Nothing else matters if our Congress cannot agree to proper, fair and secure elections. I am dumbfounded by the complete lack of leadership on this issue. Stunned everyday by those supposedly working for U.S citizens. Deplorable.
In fairness, it must also be controversial among Republicans in the senate since they’ve been unwilling to pass this act as supported by the overwhelming majority of U.S. citizens on either side of the political aisle. The Congress has a duty to protect our elections and they are failing miserably.
It’s exceptionally disappointing to witness the complete void of leadership from the Senate. Frankly, I am without words.
Or, why not just the ballroom as planned. It’s something that will serve the presidency for decades to come.
Ridiculous arguments that oppose any progress on anything (ballroom, reflecting pool, secure elections, etc.). People make things personal that are not when it comes to Trump. The constant, irrational and often destructive opposition to everything Trump is getting old.
