@countryofsal@TheRedBarrels any ideas haha? I think if there’s not some sort of exchange system we could get a plaque or poster etc showing how much extra we had haha
FINALLY time to renew my vehicle registration! I can't believe it's been a whole year since I paid $200 for the absolute privilege of driving the vehicle (that I paid for) on the roads (that I pay for), with the income left over after I give 40% to our moral superiors!
In 1981, six-year-old Adam Walsh vanished from a Sears department store in Hollywood, Florida. His mother, Revé, had only left him for a few minutes while she browsed. When she returned, Adam was gone.
Two weeks later, his remains were discovered more than 100 miles away. The case gripped the nation — not only for its unimaginable horror, but for the terrifying realization that a child could disappear in an instant, even in broad daylight.
Adam’s murder changed everything.
At a time when there was no centralized system for tracking missing children and no national protocols for how police should respond, his parents — Revé and John Walsh — took their grief and turned it into a mission. They fought tirelessly for reform, helping to create the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and influencing landmark legislation that improved how authorities handle missing child cases across the United States.
John Walsh later became the host of America’s Most Wanted, a television show that helped law enforcement track down more than 1,000 fugitives over its decades on air. His work, and Adam’s legacy, have directly saved lives.
Today, we remember Adam Walsh — a little boy who should have had the chance to grow up — and the devastating loss that inspired a global movement to protect children.
