Former NFF president Amaju Pinnick sues Davido and demands N2.3Billion with apology
The organizers of the annual 'Warri Again Concert,' Brownhill Investments Company Limited, owned by Mr. Amaju Pinnick, a former President of the Nigeria Football Federation, have filed a N2.3 billion lawsuit against hip-hop artiste Davido for an alleged breach of a contract.
The suit, marked EHC/183/2023, was filed before the Delta State High Court in Effurun. Brownhill Investments Company Limited, represented by their lawyer Kelechi Onwuegbuchulem, seeks N2 billion in general damages against Davido and his music label, Davido Music Worldwide Limited.
Additionally, they request N150 million for legal and professional fees and N30 million as the cost of filing the suit. They also want Davido to issue a public apology on his social media accounts and in two national newspapers for four consecutive days.
According to the claimant, Davido approached Mr. Pinnick at the Abuja Airport in early 2023, requesting to be engaged for the 19th edition of the 'Warri Again Concert' scheduled for October 6, 2023. They agreed on a performance fee of N70 million, and Davido received a payment of US$94,500.00 (equivalent to N70 million) on April 6, 2023, which was duly acknowledged by the defendants.
Despite doing a promotional video for the event, Davido failed to show up on the day of the concert, incurring additional expenses of $18,000 for a private jet that had been chartered to transport him to the event. Brownhill Investments Company Limited's attempts to reach Davido and his team on the event day were unsuccessful, despite having the private jet on standby at the Lagos Airport.

Mrs. Priscilla Otti, the Wife of the Governor of Abia, distributed 100 white canes to the visually impaired in the state on the occasion of the International White Cane and Safety Awareness Day in Umuahia, the state capital.
This global day of observation falls on October 15 each year and aims to raise awareness about the importance of the white cane as a tool of independence for the blind.
Due to various activities, the state could not celebrate it on the designated day.
The event was organized by the state chapter of the Nigeria Association of the Blind in collaboration with the Office of the Governor's Wife and the Ministry of Women Affairs.
The day began with a road parade and concluded with a seminar at the ministry's secretariat.
Mrs. Otti, representing the Governor's Wife, emphasized that the white cane symbolizes independence, resilience, and determination for the visually impaired to navigate a world often hidden from them.
I cried when they gave me prison uniform - Tems recounts jail term in Uganda
Nigerian music sensation, Tems, shared her distressing experience during her incarceration in Uganda, following her arrest on December 12, 2020, alongside Omah Lay.
They were arrested for violating COVID-19 restrictions after a performance at the Big Brunch.
Tems, in an interview with Angie Martinez, described how she initially thought her arrest was a joke. However, when she arrived at the prison and was handed a prison uniform, the seriousness of the situation hit her, and she cried. She spent two days in a cramped and unpleasant prison, uncertain of her release.
The 28-year-old singer highlighted the unjust imprisonment of women for minor offenses and the involvement of corrupt guards.
In the prison, inmates were unable to make phone calls without money, and Tems had no funds at her disposal during her ordeal.
