SFO investigators have uncovered a £674,000 house in Ascot owned by convicted fraudster Gerald Smith.
Smith – imprisoned in 2006 over a £34 million fraud – failed to disclose the property to the SFO before trying to claim the house was owned by his elderly mother.

Our Proceeds of Crime team, who uncovered hidden funds belonging to fraudster Gerald Smith in what the judge described as “the most complex enforcement case” he has seen.
Smith has since been found in contempt of court for illegally accessing his restricted bank accounts.

The SFO’s 7 year investigation resulted in fraudster Jeffrey Revell-Reade being sentenced to 9 years and 9 months in prison and given a confiscation order of around £7.5 million.
Since then, the SFO has relentlessly pursued Revell-Reade’s illicit gains.
