I went on the “Galeón Andalucía” today, of course I got a photo in the hat: ye old Captain Inbox on a proper Spanish Galleon, had to be done 😄 sending big love to all the surviving #emailgeeks
@LinusEkenstam@mreflow@danshipper I've not confessed anything and no PII needed. Interesting and not inaccurate in the context from what I've asked.
Good idea for office redesign though, maybe it's a hint that I need more manual creative and less screens hhmm.
M25 update: The moment the HGV apparently collided with the central reservation on the M25, J5 to J6, and exploded in a fireball, captured by dash cam. An ambulance travelling behind switched on its blue lights and the crew stopped at the scene to assist. Video: Harry Beeson.
@Dyslexia_hacks Hi Matt, I share a similar school leaving experience and went to uni later too; how did you earn to pay rent whilst at uni as a 26+ year old? feel free to DM me.
I had to drive three hours through fog and rain and epic flooding to get to a remote oilrig. Get onsite and the guy had installed the battery backwards in his wireless mouse. He wasn't supposed to have a wireless mouse or keyboard because of this exact reason. I took them away and connected up the wired keyboard and mouse again. Everything was working again. Good.
The next day I get a call the printer isn't responding. I connect remotely and there is no printer installed at all. I go to the office to get a brand new printer and travel back out, three hour drive. I get onsite and he had another wireless keyboard and mouse and had wanted the printer set up wirelessly so had disconnected everything. I took the second wireless keyboard and mouse and found the wired mouse and keyboard in the trash can. I wiped them off and connected them back up. Connected all of the printer cables back and then zipped all the cables to the security loop on the back of the machine so they couldn't be removed. Permanently disabled the wireless settings on the printer so they couldn't activate them again.
When the two guys got back and everything was working I told them if they connected up another wireless keyboard and mouse, I would hit them both in the head with a sledge hammer and drag them out behind the rig site for the buzzards and coyotes. Foreman comes in as I'm threatening them both. He just looks at me and them.
"Guys don't piss off the IT guy."
Turns out a vendor had come in and screwed with the company computer, sold them IT supplies and tried to set up the printer so he could print his invoices from his phone. I put a sign on the computer monitor - "Company people only on this computer. No Vendors allowed."
The vendor would "sell equipment" as a monthly service. You request the equipment and they would bring it out and invoice the company for a monthly charge of $30 per item. When the company found out, they fired all of the employees that were using them.
I'm told all marketing SMS to the UK, need their sendernames registered and it can 4-6 weeks for UK operators to process them.
SMS sendernames will be rejected by UK operators unless they are registered.
Because of an influx in SMS phishing and spam.
anyone else heard this?
