Today's is an unusual streaming schedule, so I think I'll plan on starting late, so that there's no trouble with supper and/or extended streaming logistics.
Join me for more BIG WALK in about 4 hours from this post! :D
Miyamoto discusses what the Order of Culture award means to him:
"I feel quite embarrassed, to be honest, but I am truly honored to have been chosen for such a prestigious award.
As I often say, I do not create games all by myself. This award is the result of the work I have done alongside many others, and I accept it as a representative of that entire team.
Lately, in particular, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with people from fields beyond just video games—such as on "Super Nintendo World" at Universal Studios Japan and various film-related projects. I would like to share the joy of this award with all of them.
Recently, there have been several milestones, such as the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, and I myself have often mentioned that it has been 45 years since I began making games. However, when I really think about it—having joined Nintendo in 1977 and immediately becoming involved in game development—it has actually been 50 years. Since "50 years" is a nice, round number, I’ll use that figure today.
Fifty years ago, I began working in a medium called "games"—a medium whose very nature was, at the time, not even clearly defined. I have been able to continue this work ever since. I believe I am receiving this recognition precisely because I was there from the very dawn of the industry, and I feel that I have led a very lucky life."

@Jamesupdike18 It didn't take me much thinking to determine that I'd probably best keep at it, even with its difficulty.
I'll decide for sure on Sunday.
Like I said at the start of today's broadcast, I'm not sure about continuing Captain's Morning Read, it's been a bit much getting up that early in the morning, but at the same time it's been good for me. Starting later isn't an option because I want to make the show available to the EST crew, and at 10am it's not quite "morning" anymore.
I haven't picked the next book for this reason, and I'm going to take the weekend to decide.
I'll announce what I'm going to do on Sunday.
