The ’90s kicked so much ass.
Pitch: “I have an idea for summer hockey.”
ESPN: “We need summer programming. Arenas are empty. Go on.”
Pitch: “No arena. It’s on the beach.”
ESPN: “Hockey. On a beach.”
Pitch: “Right you are, kemosabe. Teams like the Dawg Pac and Salsa.”
ESPN: “So… a normal rink by the ocean?”
Pitch: “Not exactly. The end boards are ramps.”
ESPN: “I don’t like it.”
Pitch: “Oh.”
ESPN: “I FUCKING LOVE IT.”
-Left the tour for LIV knowing he would get banned
-Burned every possible bridge in the process
-Sued the tour
-AND passed on the Returning Member Program offer that was only available for a short time....
And is still talking about playing the PGA Tour *AND* LIV 🙄
Hard to know if the Iran war's been a success.
On the one hand, we've failed to achieve our main objectives, driven up the price of various commodities, and shown Iran that they can squeeze the Strait of Hormuz.
On the other hand, all it took was the virtual exhaustion of our entire long-range precision missile supplies.
"Who has the strongest SOS?"
"The SEC."
"Why?"
"Because they play a bunch of SEC teams."
"How good are SEC teams?"
"Really good, because they play a bunch of SEC teams."
"How do you know if SEC teams are better than teams from other conferences?"
"They are better, because they play a lot more SEC teams than teams from other conferences."
@UCBearcatUC@ChrisAcer5@FOS Not being the exclusive logo patch inherently drives down whatever the additional patch deal would be, while looking twice as tacky. I think this also proves that’s 360 deal for 16 teams and a conference patch should’ve been higher than 20M. It’s a bad bad deal
@ChrisMWilliams Chris, with Ohio State fetching i17M for a single patch? Are you still feeling the Cool Factor on 20M for Patch, Field, and entire conference naming deal with Monster? Thanks.
@DanFriedman81@MikeHoncho5ezc@rBillSimmonsPod Dude, being the 4th billed guy in these is not that same as breaking World Record for attendance at a Stand Up show. 77 thousand. Ed Helms never had that juice, I’m sorry. They both currently have podcasts and guess whose is way bigger…
@DanFriedman81@MikeHoncho5ezc@rBillSimmonsPod Gillis on an a one man Arena tour, Netflix created show and one of the most successful podcasts will certainly be much richer than Ed Helms if he isn’t already. Crazy take.
This is why you don't negotiate with terrorists. The committee placated them after Bama was "left out" (for better teams, mind you) in 2024. In 2025:
-5 of the 12 teams in the playoffs were SEC
-Their only playoff wins were against a G5 and each other
-Their lowest seeded team was ranked ahead of two 10-2 teams (one of which made the NC Game) and an 11-2 team despite being 10-3. That team's losses included a blowout loss to a 5-7 FSU team that won 2 games in the ACC and a 21-point loss to UGA. They then lost to Indiana by 5 TDs in the Rose Bowl.
All evidence points to the SEC getting TOO MANY teams in. So what are they saying now?
They are complaining that a 9-3 team with a loss to a 4-win Florida team, that also needed miracles to beat Mississippi State and Kentucky, did not jump the aforementioned 10-2 and 11-2 teams (all 3 of them) and get in over the team that made the NC Game so they could have HALF the teams.
You don't have to listen to the gaslighting. Tell them to actually be good at football next time and move on.
