Down Syndrome advocate Frank Stephens:
“See me as a human being, not as a birth defect- not a syndrome. I don’t need to be eradicated.”
The resurfaced video comes amid YouTuber Jesse Ridgway and his wife aborting their baby because it had Down Syndrome.
People are acting like bringing a child into the world is only about the child.
If two parents already know they are not emotionally, financially, or physically prepared to care for a child with severe disabilities, that reality doesn’t disappear after birth.
The child’s quality of life matters.
The parents’ quality of life matters too.
Pretending otherwise doesn’t make anyone more compassionate. It just makes the conversation less honest.
Hi @McJuggerNuggets I’m the proud Father of a child born at 26 weeks who came out at 1.5 pounds while we were trapped in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. We were told she would be born with multiple Genetic defects. There were ZERO moments we considered abortion. Guess what? She was early but she was perfect. She spent the first three months of her life in the NICU and came home two weeks before Christmas at 4.5 pounds. She is now a nearly-full scholarship brilliant college student who is a gorgeous knockout. But then again, her mother and I weren’t two lazy, pathetic, selfish fucks like you who grift the murder of your child for youtube clout. Go to hell.
You said the quiet part out loud. Thats why people are so mad.
Abortion activists spend 99% of their time saying “for the health of the mother!” and you didn’t do that. You just straight up embraced being a psychopath and showing the real face of “choice”.
People kill their own offspring for purely selfish, insanely narcissistic reasons. You’re proof.
