@mortem_lucis@klkmanitordx Not really, tbh. Yes, every country received immigrants. There’s no denying that. But few received such large waves of immigrants that it reshaped their entire society. This is limited to Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and Brazil.
@g_mosumbo_18@klkmanitordx You’re forgetting that Argentina received a huge wave of Spanish immigration after independence from Spain.
And the top 20 names in Argentina are Spanish because there aren’t as many unique names as there are in Italian.
@Reboticant@Steve_Sailer@danyscht Counterpoint: Argentina has one of the shortest teams this year (a smidge above Mexico).
Tbf, I’m not sure how Argentina usually ranks in terms of height.
@CoreyWriting I don’t think that’s right. I spot checked a few and saw that’s about half of their student body doesn’t receive any financial aid (ie, they pay full tuition).
I think a large chunk of the students absolutely pay full tuition.
@MrMaitra I believe some colonial powers held this view, yes. Mainly the British. The other colonial powers were more extractive.
Hence why formerly British colonies in Africa do better than the rest.
