This is one of my favorite parts of the series so far. There is something about when the inexplicable and unspoken materializes as something so tyrannical and overbearing. I have seen my favorite heroes like Static, Star Butterfly, and Batman Beyond’s Terry deal with an such adversary too. It gets so deep trying to take it on, let alone understand it. What is it really?

Is it the inner critic? The overwhelming price of duty or having an ability? Imposter syndrome in the flesh, but oh so curious about you for some reason? Old wounds you have yet to settle and process? In this series, Captain Zero, the beast is Called the Depression Demon. Sagas to conquer manifestations like that speak to me every single time.

The style of animation is very new to me and I love that. The story behind the one putting on the hero mask is deeply relatable, pronounced, and humorous at times. I mean how do you tell your closest professional confidant what you really do for work, in a way that won’t give your identity away? Or tell anyone what your week is like taking on ogres that believe something on lines of: “Everyone thinks they are special. Only to realize over and over again, no they aren’t. No one is. Deal with it.” With a strong smile too? What a world to be in. What does that mean?

If you have something different in you… do you let that let it go and do nothing with it? And so you do use it, are you prepared to be crushed over it? Or is better to become invisible in a sea of other people that just don’t bother using what is unique in them? Natural consequence or an order of things? Or is that just beginning of a path you have yet to understand? No idea, but I’d love to see the next part. I’m so excited to see if his partner in taking down crime is okay. And if Xerxes levels up in a way that he can be proud of. Very interesting story so far!
