Today's reflection from Fr. Tom Zelinski focuses on Jesus teaching of a kind of radical love: “Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” https://t.co/V33cFidNSL
In our Gospel passages this week, there are references to the “Kingdom of Heaven.” What comes to mind? We may have different ideas about that, but the actual meaning can be a bit unclear. It is not first of all a place to which we travel.

Recently we have seen many reports of strange, dangerous and violent behavior. People have fought in airplanes, baseball stadiums, grocery stores, bars and other places. Why all this frustration and anger?

As soon as our minds see the word “ordinary” we easily jump to other meanings of that word: simple, plain, unremarkable. And perhaps that is the way we judge many hours and days.

Fr. Tom Zelinski, OFM Cap. reflects on last week's events in Washington: "When people say 'this is not who we are,' we are called by Christ to examine who we truly are, and look to him for guidance, wisdom, and healing." https://t.co/dkCj8odBvL
In the Church calendar, Sunday's memorial of the Baptism of Jesus marks the end of the Christmas season. Which may prompt some to ask: “Why would Jesus have to be baptized?" https://t.co/N1ncRnWssV
It's a New Year. It's the custom of Catholics to begin and end many things with the Sign of the Cross. It's good for us to take a look at things that are very familiar to us. There's a danger that they might become too familiar, easily passed over. https://t.co/iaOxlxcOjK
One of the central figures in our Christmas celebration is St. Joseph. Yet in the Bible we read no word that he spoke. We are simply told some things that he did. Read Fr. Tom's reflection: https://t.co/TbzjvMGK7Y

Today's reflection from Fr. Tom Zelinski is the story of the healing of a blind man. The stories of healing the blind are not only about the cure of one person; they are meant to point further to the issue of personal or spiritual blindness. https://t.co/JIIbFf87YO
On the feast of the Sacred Heart the Sisters in my community are going to do a small dinner to honour our brothers who are priests. Any ideas of SIMPLE things we can do?
God is always coming to us in human situations to draw us closer to Him. In each moment and situation God is present and wants to deepen our experience. Each moment of life is a sacred moment where God is present. May we keep our hearts and minds always open to God.
Jesus says he is “the bread of life”. Metaphors such as this helps to understand that it is God’s presence that gives life. “Whoever comes to me will never hunger, and who believes in me will never thirst”. This metaphor lets us know that when we connect with God we become alive.
