Due to covid my students really enjoyed playing with nature (sticks) I watched in amazement the progression of their house building. This is our house @PetreeElem#playishowtheylearn#nature
Shouldn't there be a better distinction between "play-based" & "free play?" And is play-based learning leading to more standards alignment & tech in early childhood classrooms? @DEY_Project @raepica1 @denisha_jones @palan57 https://t.co/z8lwZhCqAt
Our plastic bag bracelets were a success! We read One Plastic Bag and learned about plastic. We blended culture and science today @PetreeElem#Kindergarten#STEMinkindergarten
This made my day. In person students building relationships with remote students during brain bag time. Discussions about what they were building @PetreeElem#playishowtheylearn#Kindergarten
@bluskyz Try to make multiple bags to rotate out. Boredom is easy in this new way. My remote friends bring toys to screen at end of day to play with in person friends when they have manipulative bags.
@bluskyz Even though students are masked and 6feet apart they are still kindergartners! Make lots of bagged activities that can be air sanitized/ sprayed. Things like a box of rhyming puzzles can be made into 6 individual bags. Add people, animals, vehicles to manipulatives!
The first two days of this year have broken case count records. These numbers need to be a wake up call. Wear a mask and follow the safety measures in place to drive down the numbers. It takes all of us doing our part.
Oh, it’s still going to happen... nothing stops play! Please tell a friend that Feb 3, 2021 is Global School Play Day! Register your live or virtual class at https://t.co/mTR9jp5vbQ #GSPD2021#millionswillplay
