Israel’s supreme court has unanimously ruled today that same-sex couples can now adopt children. Making Israel the first Middle Eastern country to approve it.

My partner and I plan to adopt one day, and my heart is bursting with pride that my small, young country— while not without its flaws— is continuing to improve every day.

I will continue fighting for her, to honor my ancestors, my family, and for my children, so they, and all the children of this region, can live the lives they deserve, in peace.
