비트코인이 생각보다 허술하고 관행에따라 운영되는 불완전한 네트워크라는 것을 BIP-110이 보여주고 있음...

비트맥시들은 비트코인을 마치 종교적인, 성역화된 완벽한 네트워크라고 보겠지만, 알고보면 실질적으로 그렇지 않음...

BIP-110은 Ordinals, Runes 등의 데이터를 트랜잭션에 못 싣게 제한하는 1년짜리 소프트포크 업그레이드임. 여기서 재밌는 건 활성화 임계값을 55%로 정해버림...

기존엔 95%로 합의돼 왔는데, 이게 단순히 지금까지 내려온 관행일 뿐이지 코드에 박힌 규칙도 아닌 것임. 막말로 10%로 정해버려도 막을 공식 규칙이 없음ㅋㅋ...

물론 통과야 안 되겠지만, 핵심은 "무엇이 정당한 합의인가"를 정하는 규칙 자체가 없다는 거임... 규칙이 존재하지도 않고 만들 수 도 없는 시스템임...

이 문제도 있지만, 내 생각엔 실질적으로 '비트코인 정체성'에 대한 논쟁이기도 함.

표면은 데이터 스팸 논쟁인데, 본질은 "비트코인은 돈인가, 데이터 레이어인가"를 양쪽에서 정의하는 싸움같음. 16년 된 자산이 아직도 자기가 뭔지 정의도 못 한 상태임...

종교화되고 성역화된 "가장 탈중앙화된 네트워크"가, 알고 보면 관행과 힘겨루기로 굴러온 생각보다 허술한 네트워크인 것임...
