The City of Bastrop is holding a City Council meeting hours away in Fredericksburg, making it nearly impossible for the people they represent to attend and participate.
That’s especially troubling when the agenda includes major issues like the city budget, property tax rate, legislative priorities, data center policy, and Flock camera technology—topics that directly affect Bastrop residents.
Public meetings should be accessible to the public. Moving them out of town undermines transparency and meaningful citizen participation.
This is unacceptable. I will be filing legislation to require that city council meetings be held in the city they represent so the public has a fair opportunity to attend, speak, and hold their elected officials accountable. #txlege
I don’t think most people understand the massive scale of investment Tesla & SpaceX are making in Texas right now.
Everything the two companies are/going to build across the state:
• Terafab (Grimes County)
• Gigasat factory (in Bastrop, currently under construction)
• Optimus factory (at Giga Texas, currently under construction)
• Advanced technology fab (at Giga Texas, currently under construction)
• Tesla Project Crystal Sun (big solar cell plant in Fort Bend County. Late 2026 construction start date)
• Expanded Starlink terminal production facility (in Bastrop, currently under construction)
• Further Starbase expansion (in Starbase)
• Tesla Megafactory 3 (in Brookshire, just started prod)
Our goal is for no Tesla battery to end up in a landfill.

Terafab will be built in Grimes County, Texas
In April, we broke ground on our research fab on the North Campus of Giga Texas – the precursor to Terafab.
Both Tesla & SpaceX will need far more chips than current & future global production can supply.
This is why we're building the largest chip manufacturing facility ever, with the goal of producing over 1 terawatt of compute per year

You know how cars have huge wiring harnesses?
That's because each component needs its own set of wires, connected to the central ECUs, in order to function.
Every speaker, every switch, every sensor, every actuator, every button.
Tesla threw out that entire system for Cybertruck.
Instead, they're running gigabit ethernet cabling with a 48v power + data CAN bus to every component— all on the same cable.
Instead of running one wiring harness to the driver door speaker, and another to the driver's door window motor, they can daisy-chain them together on the same self-contained cable interface. Your computer could connect to your door handle using the *same* wire that's already been through your speaker, window, ambient lights, and steering wheel.
Each of those devices/components listen to the continuous stream of data for a command relevant to its operation.
By doing this,Tesla was able to reduce the total wiring in the Cybertruck by 77%, using 1/2 the copper.
Don't sleep on Tesla.
3+ years ago a few of us started designing this #gigafactory with the end goal of bringing the #Cybertruck to market at volume production. Today is the culmination of a lot of hard work building some world-class infrastructure. Congrats to the entire team!
