Trump Dumped 35,000 Cubic Yards Of Toxic Debris Into A Public Park. Now Congress Wants It Cleaned Up.

Congressional lawmakers are demanding the Trump administration immediately remove more than 35,000 cubic yards of demolition debris from the former White House East Wing that was dumped in East Potomac National Park.

Why?

Because testing found elevated levels of lead, arsenic and mercury in the debris, while questions remain about possible asbestos contamination.

According to the lawmakers, the contaminated piles have sat there for nearly eight months, exposing golfers, runners, cyclists, fishermen and families using the park. The debris is also located just feet from the Potomac River, raising concerns about contamination of a major waterway that feeds into the Chesapeake Bay.

Lead and mercury are powerful neurotoxins that can affect brain development and the nervous system. Long-term arsenic exposure has been linked to several cancers. Lawmakers also say no reliable asbestos testing has yet been provided.

Now members of Congress are demanding the administration:

• Remove the debris immediately.
• Clean up any contamination.
• Warn the public about potential health risks.
• Explain why the material was dumped there in the first place.

Another Trump project.

Another environmental mess.

It's ordinary people being asked to live with the consequences.

Видео пролетов "Фламинго" уже предостаточно, и из них мы можем сделать очевидный вывод.
"Фламинго" - это никакая не гиперзвуковая баллистическая вундервафля. Это обычная дозвуковая низколетящая ракета, которая, я так подозреваю, на радаре светится, как трактор, с двигателем середины прошлого века, дающий тепловой след как авианосец, её видно и слышно радарами, биноклями, моноклями, пенсне и просто обычным деревянным глазом, при современном уровне обнаружения - за километры и километры.
И даже этот трактор, два часа медленно идущий по российскому воздушному пространству, российское ПВО сбить не в состоянии.
Ну, ладно, ок, допустим, дрон пластиковый и "Панцирь" его не видит - хотя что он вообще тогда видит, "Лютый" тоже размером с "Жигули", но ок. Пусть так.
Но, блин, десятиметровую огроменную трубу с реактивным двигателем?
Ок, ладно, допустим, все "Панцири" на фронте, в Москве, на Валдае, в жопе у Путина.
Но авиация-то? Где перехватчики? Которые просто рождены для этой цели?
И вот из всего из этого мы можем сделать прекрасный вывод.
На пятом году войны Россия пришла - точнее, доведена Украиной - до такого состояния, что она не может противостоять ракетам на технологиях середины прошлого века.
То, есть, она вообще не может противостоять воздушной агрессии.
Впервые в истории войн размер страны оказался не её преимуществом, а её недостатком.
И это офигенный козырь и офигенное окно возможностей - которое, конечно, закроется, как закрылись и Байрактары с Химарсами, не надо излишних чепчиков в воздух, если Украина приспособилась жить без электричества и топлива, то почему вы думаете Россия не приспособится - но которое пока еще есть, противодействия ему еще не выработано и которое нужно использовать на полную катушку.
