The aim would be to run a mini conference (livestreamed) to try and kickstart some youth events

We're very glad to see this work moving forward. The Direct to Full option has been a consistent request from Masters and PhD level students, not to mention a good fit for practicing RF engineers in academia and industry.

We're at the @cardiffstudents Freshers Fair today! Amateur Radio is the opportunity to understand how wireless technology works from Bluetooth to 5G while using our own radios to send signals to and from satellites and people in countries around the world.

@Ciemon @MX5AKA Realistically another antenna is needed, which can take some time to get approved and installed. We're also interested in running a M17 repeater on UHF, that could share an antenna with the APRS VHF digipeater more easily.

Our second antenna is up! A Diamond X300N which will let us operate VHF and UHF voice and digital communications across Cardiff and across the Bristol Channel to Cornwall.

@Ciemon @MX5AKA Yes! We have a Motorola GM300 and a KissOZ Raspberry Pi TNC that were donated to the club. We need to raise money for the cables, coax, and either a du/diplexer to allow us to share the same antenna, or a new antenna and mounting hardware.
