Dustin May since 4/10 (only removes his first 2 starts)
2.89 ERA
2.86 FIP
8.13 K/9
2.34 BB/9
0.41 HR/9
1.8 WAR
That’s good for 8th best WAR for all of MLB pitchers during that time.

The Good:
#stlcards rank 6th in baseball in non-pitching fWAR. With an average position player age of 24-25 years old, that’s very good.
The Bad:
Cardinals rank 28th in pitching fWAR.
The Ugly:
Cardinals rank dead last in K/9 by a wide margin at 6.87.
In 12.1 IP Svanson and Roycroft have given up 20 runs. That is 28% of #stlcards total runs allowed while only pitching 10% of the total innings pitched by Cardinal pitchers.
Combine this with a 121 wRC+ despite him only slugging .361 at the moment. The slug will come with time given his track record.
The sky is truly the limit for JJ Wetherholt. #stlcards
For a team that is in the midst of a rebuild, can someone explain to me why #StlCards Pedro Pages is on the roster over Jimmy Crooks?
Crooks is the number 8 prospect in Cardinals system and is 24 years old with lots of minor league success.
Pedro Pages is 27.
@dgoold Completely delusional perspective by the FO. He’s been horrible for the whole year, but they think a contender would give up anything worthwhile if he has 1-2 decent starts?
Sunk cost fallacy.
Sonny Gray game score for today was a 96.
That ranks #2 in #STLCards history for a 9 inning game.
Who’s #1?
Shelby Miller in 2013 when he had a 98 game score.
His line: 9 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 13 K
@b_miklasz Oli laughingly told you guys on the podcast that he’s getting better but the results don’t show it…
He just blew another game by giving up a bomb to a guy with a career 60 wRC+. This organization has really lost it.
@KevinWheeler94 That’s fair. Their stubbornness with Fernandez has been remarkable. Seems like a swap for O’Brien makes too much sense and should’ve been done days ago.
@JohnDenton555 Context is important John.
He also has:
2nd percentile LA sweet spot
22nd percentile barrel rate
Below 50th percentile in xSLG, xBA, xWOBA.
He’s swinging hard but if he doesn’t figure out how to lift the ball, I fear he will never be the player he was supposed to be.
Miles Mikolas has thrown 81 pitches. He has 2 swings and misses.
The writing is on the wall. It doesn’t take much to understand it’s probably best to give these opportunities to someone else.
