It is, in some ways, part of the Petrine office and ministry to teach us how to die.
And I think, in these days of watching & worrying about Pope Francis, we have the chance to pray in a renewed way, for the comfort & healing of the aged & ill & those close to going home to the Lord, especially our Holy Father.
I have recently received many messages of affection, and I have been particularly struck by the letters and drawings from children. Thank you for your closeness, and for the consoling prayers I have received from all over the world!

@VaticanNews We join the Holy Father in praying for the late Cardinal Angelo Amato, who honoured us in South Africa by presiding over the Beatification of Benedict Daswa, the first South. African born person to receive this distinction. Benedict is honoured as a Martyr for the Faith!
