Congrats to Dr David Fereira on the late breaker SCOFF randomised study demonstrating non-inferiority of no fasting vs fasting prior to sedation cardiac cath lab procedures.

The Pressure AF randomised trial. Routine chest pressure does not improve cardioversion efficacy in atrial fibrillation. Thank you for allowing me to present at the ESC @escardio @esccongress. Simultaneous publication in JACC Electrophysiology.

Too fast or not too fast before cardiac cath? SCOFF trial shows no fasting was superior to fasting for primary endpoint of aspiration pneumonia, hypotension, hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia (19.1% vs. 12.0%).
SCOFF trial shows not fasting before cardiac cath procedure is superior than fasting with regards to rates of aspiration pneumonia, hypotension, hyperglycemia, or hypoglycemia. Pts satisfaction higher in non-fasting group. Watch Dr. Ferreira present results of SCOFF trial presented at #ESCCongress
No need to fast before cardiac cath procedure, SCOFF trial shows. Download slides from SCOFF trial presented at #ESCCongress here https://t.co/JTaDNwjm7O
Thank you for the opportunity to present at @escardio
and the privilege of publishing in the EHJ @ESC_Journals@ehj_ed! Hopefully this evidence will help in the care of our patients around the world. #ESCCongress2024
