From personal experience of writing both exams as a doctor.

Clearly and straight OET is easier, but the general thought is about it being more expensive.

With higher chances of passing, OET is definitely cheaper with the likelihood of lesser attempts compared to IELTS which has frustrated plans of a majority of healthcare workers.

IELTS is vague and broad, OET is very specific with Healthcare information only which makes it a lot more easier and relatable with only 1 letter to write.

Speaking is a walkover for doctors, its like the routine clinic consultation.

Writing is more or less a referral letter, including only relevant information and sticking to word count of 180- 200

Listening and Reading are technical, You learn the techniques easier and faster with an experienced tutor like myself.

I didn't pass OET the first time only because i was too casual and adopted a mindset that it is easier than IELTS.

I didn't pass only the writing at my first OET attempt because the task was addressed to a community district nurse.

My writing score was low 280....I understood and accepted the outcome knowing fully well that I still wrote like to a consultant. Points like nursing management and discharge plan were missing.

Immediately, I registered for the next attempt on July 7, 2019 and passed.

I have more than 80% success rate taking all professionals.

Being a previous candidate, gives me a very different view.

With a tutor, you would require less time to know the tricks. It's relatively easier and one I would encourage anyone to write.

My record for Writing is 100%, I teach all modules with ease and able to teach all healthcare professions.
